Open to debate whether I am right or wrong.

Noticed a few things.
First is there seems to be no leader no one giving direction in the Black American community. Kind of scary have individuals charged with emotions of fear, anger, confusion, and so forth no guide on what to do with that emotion. With technology today be easier for a voice to step forward and be heard.

Second government policies, welfare, and dependence on Government. Statistics show that minorities of Blacks and Hispanics that come from a family of low income or live off government subsidies are shown to have more involvement with police for illegal or just random encounters. In addition to, arrested more for illicit substance use. Doesn't mean they are using or selling more just higher chance to be arrested for involvement with illicit substances. In addition to, higher chance of recidivism and possibility of a family member in or has been in jail. Can we break people out of living off of government subsidies. Can people work and have ability to support their family.

In addition to, difficult to break away from government dependence become caught in a circle. Many jobs have left the country due to government and business policies. Furthermore rehabilitated offenders have a decreased chance of finding employment. Continues growth of government dependence and illegal activities.

Do criminals have they fed off this. Do they have the strongest control over these communities preventing people from speaking out due to retaliation.

There will always be racism in the world. Yes terrible events in the past have occurred
However, do we seek justice or growth. Do we seek healing from learning from the past.

The increase violence police officers see do you feel they are becoming more afraid. I respect what they do and won't argue there is bad apples in a barrell. However, they want to make it home at the end of the shift. Does human preservation take over at times.

Someone is going to tell you there are more whites on welfare than blacks. They will also forget to mention that blacks are 13% of the population and whites are 70%ish.

I am saying though back in the day you had people like MLK stand up be a voice for black community. Give the community direction focus to stand up for their rights.

One of the major barriers to becoming self sufficient is poor quality education. Lot of contributing factors from families and communities that don't support education to schools that aren't able to teach students in the 12 years they have them.

Talked with professor from Germany once who said that Germany invested in education because they simply were not able to support such a high percentage of citizens who were unemployable.

Thanks to inclusion, "least restrictive environment," and a distaste for tracking, elementary and middle school classrooms often have a half dozen or more students who are unable to keep up academically and/or do not have the behavior required to settle down and learn.

Expecting students to do well in classrooms where there are continual disruptions is unrealistic. We need to create educational environments that support learning. Pressuring teachers and students to perform on standardized tests does not change this situation.

Students who are able to settle down and learn are often used as role models and "study partners" for those who aren't. We expect them to sacrifice the pace of their academic progress.

By high school, we are fine with tracking. Some students are in AP while others are in academic support and the rest are in between. But by then we have frittered away 8 valuable years.

If we truly want to see all students learn to the best of their ability, I think we need to institute year round schools and tracking by subject. The student who is excited about reading and ready for more difficult books needs to be in a class with others who share their excitement. Those who are struggling with sounding out words need stop be in a class focused on phonics. ...

We are shortchanging all our students by continuing to pretend that we can meet everyone's needs in the same classroom. It's one of the reasons U.S. students consistently score measurably behind students of other developed nations in international tests in math, science and reading. One third of the students applying to community colleges in the U.S. need remedial coursework before enrolling.

Our children have all gone through public schools with short breaks for homeschooling and private schools here and there. They have all done well, but only because we stepped in to see that they had fascinating books to read, that they knew there times tables, that they were transferred out of classrooms that were over-the-top disruptive.

But what about children from families who are struggling to keep their heads above water, who don't have books in their home, who don't know how to teach their children the times table? What do they do?

A huge reason for so many of our citizens needing to be subsidized is that they simply don't have the academic skills to be self supporting and we decline to do what is needed to create educational environments that optimize learning opportunities for them

I'll get off my soap box now.

I'll agree on that. Know people who sub our school system is underfunded where we live. More money goes into the Magnet school big difference.

Heard stories of teachers buying clothes, books, food, and so forth for their students.

Sometimes the parent isn't there in jail, don't care, or doesn't have the time due to working multiple jobs to help raise a family.

Will agree can never understood the idea of Standardized testing or Common Core.

Not sure what would work best some culturesort hold teachers in high regards. I think requiring teachers to receive a Masters degree with more psych included. Up the starting pay for teachers to $80,000 US wide and then they can specialize with their PHD.

Think students should spend 4 hours, 8am to 12pm, of studying. Lunch/Break for an hour. Then 1 hour of a language. Then 2 hours of learning activities in a group session or a community volunteer project. End school around 4 or 430. Time children arrive home a parent will be there.Attend school 4 1/2 days a week, 1/2 day on Friday. Homework is small projects, research projects, and papers. Every other Saturday class is 8 to 10 with parents or guardian needing to attend the session with the child.

In addition to, once a week from June to August one 8 hour class. Students are allowed to go on vacation. It will be school covering various topics from the previous year and working on community volunteer project.

No more standardized testing. Grades are based on participation, but test/quizzes/homework modern progress. Help develop a study plan for the child.
