"I had a bad hip issue (groin issue) and ended up with a botched hip replacement in 2010."
I am truly sorry you had this bad experience.
But, out or the hundreds of thousands how may have gone bad?
My aunt had BOTH hips replaced and I know a LOT of people who have had hip and knee replacements without a single problem.
Some people act as if doctors are Gods. They are NOT.
I would like to meet just one person who NEVER made a mistake in their life.
To condemn the entire medical industry because of one error, again, sorry it happened to you, is ludicrous at best.
We don't know how many replacements have gone WRONG. But for the last almost 6 yrs I've talked to plenty of those who live with issues. Yes, many have good outcomes and glad your relative was one of them. Right now I'm talking to a male friend who is having a lousy time with knee replacement and now dealing with a shoulder replacement mess. He lived in the gym for many years and caused lots of joint damage.
This issue isn't my only one with pharma industry, but the icing on the cake of my life. I've had other issues and know some in my family who have and still do.
The only pharma "med" that has finally helped me live a better life is desiccated thyroid that I finally gt on in 2002 after 10 yrs of trying to get help from MD's... Pharma anti inflammatory put me in the ER with a stomach ulcer....
How many MD's ever admitted to being wrong, to making a mistake?
The only thing that matters is the exec and shareholder profits
It is the only thing that matters and is all that matters
Yep, major with it all. I'd like to think differently but...Everything exploded after WWII and the medical "industry".
MOST MOST conventional MD's don't work to get to the ROOT of the issues of their patients, just slap those drugs on them. At least with integrative/functional medicine MD's, they work to get to the root and we learn from them to use tools and work on our own health. It's become a nice partnership at least that's how it's been with the integrative MD's I've been with for the last decade or more.

Here's a tip for those taking Metformin for diabetes, your B12 is being depleted by this drug. Be on top of this if your MD is not. This info is all over the net.

Thanks for your tip regarding metformin and vitamin B 12....I was unaware that metformin depletes B 12 in some taking it...
The University of Saskatchewan (not big pharma) is working on this....
The team studied a special protein that regulates dopamine in the body. In Parkinson's disease, this protein becomes "misfolded" and can kill dopamine-creating cells. These misfolded proteins can cascade, spreading through the brain like falling dominos, wiping out the cells.
Using previous research that showed caffeine can stop the effects of Parkinson's, researchers combined it with other compounds including nicotine and a diabetes drug called metformin.
I got a rock in my back yard that if you grind up will cure all that ails you.
Just send me $1000. I'd patent it but big pharma doesn't want any cures for this stuff.
