I agree that I have not liked her since she made that comment about not being proud to be an American. I had contempt for her after that.
Since then, I don't mind her as much, because she seems to be raising nice children (like that is hard in the White House and in the most exclusive school in America).
She is delusional with the whole eating healthy thing, but I give her credit for trying.
Where I applaud her efforts, is her support for military wives and families.
It will remain to be seen if she distinguishes herself after she leaves the White House.
So outside of Harvard (Probably had connections to get into the school most likely) she has done NOTHING. Much like Hillary
Michelle Obama was in the gifted program at Whitney Young Magnet High School in Chicago (It is currently ranked 120 in the US by US News and World Report and has a gold medal). She graduated *** Laude from Princeton and got her JD from Harvard in 1988. She then worked as a corporate lawyer in the area of marketing and intellectual property until she went to work for Richard J. Daley as assistant commissioner of planning and development for the City of Chicago. In 1996, she joined the University of Chicago as associate dean of student services, developing the school’s first community-service program. Beginning in 2002, she worked for the University of Chicago Hospitals, as executive director of community relations and external affairs. She continued to work part time at the University of Chicago Medical Center until shortly before her husband was inaugurated.
I don't think that is *nothing.* This was all before she became first lady. She is also a fantastic mother and is involved with many social issues on a personal level. She is passionate about her causes and works hard to advance them.

I thought it was very honest and courageous of her to make that remark about not being proud to be an American. She is very intelligent, and she had to know that people would just react rather than think about it and deliberately use it against her.
Another hilarious comment I saw on Twitter was someone putting her up there in the ranks with Eleanor Roosevelt LOL at least Eleanor loved her country.

Eleanor did not tolerate racism at a time when it was widely accepted. She resigned from the DAR when they refused to let a black singer perform at Constitution Hall knowing it might anger some of husband's supporters.
People can love their country by trying to make it better even when what they say are things that others don't like to hear.
