I thought this was going to be a thread about rejecting statism/collectivism and embracing the self-reliance virtue that eliminates such nonsense.

Which both parties have happily done since at least as far back as the 1953 CIA backed coup in Iran. The POTUS doesn't act alone, Congress is just as responsible. The next time Congress acts to turn this around will be the first time.
