How long can a society last when it considers being crass and unpolished to be a greater sin than being nakedly corrupt?

I think it is deplorable that she can lie about everything yet the majority are Ok with that.

The kind of rubbish she has been shoveling our way usually comes out at the end of someones term not before he or she takes office. If it was anyone but Hillary the race wold now be Trump and Bernie because she would be in prison.
Take a look at this...

you have the nerve to say that, considering that when it was bill clinton the democrats were saying it was no big deal, and now suddenly it is a huge deal and trump needs to be castrated in a variety of manners.

Appears our current POTUS has already gotten away with it.

It is a biggie when someone lies under oath about it (William the Impeached).

For example, say a President was caught molesting/raping several children in the White House, and he did it to several, do you think he would actually be actually punished by being immediately removed from office and given several decades in Prison hanging out with all the other joes as he should, or do you think like all the others he would just be given a slap on the wrist, left to peacefully resign and live out the rest of his days in peace?
It would be covered up.

But assuming the word got out to such a degree the media was forced to cover the story, the story would be spinned in enough ways to cause doubt among the American audience or readers.

In current times they could always blame Russia. That's a get out of jail free card for them.

Number one, few to no Republicans are going to allow the prestige of the US Presidential office to be tarnished and then to be made the center of international ridicule, even if the President in office is a Democrat.

Number two, few to no Democrats are ever going to do the right thing no matter how steeped in wickedness "one of their" (Democratic Pary member) own in the Presidential office is. If their Democratic President likes keeping 12 year-old boys chained in the White House basement, so can sodomize them at his convenience, then they'll ignore it or argue it is not true or justify it by disparaging critics as "Puritans." Or better yet... they can appeal to the emotions of young voters by telling them the Russians are trying to subvert "our democracy."
