False premise. Most baby boomers are of the cultural revolution era. They are more democrat than republican.

Most boomers were around for or participated in the "summer of love", "ban the bra" and Vietnam War protests. Not exactly bible thumping conservative movements.

Boomers have done plenty to be blamed for but this current political mess is not one of them. It is not boomers rioting in the streets, nor is it gen Xers. It is indeed the "special snowflake" generation doing the rioting.
Agreed.

It's also called "attitudes change". I'm an old Gen X dude and; I def looks at things a whole lot different than when Reagan was POTUS.

It's like the 60's all over except we the boomers are now the establishment and the millennials believe they can create the change.

We've screwed up some things, we've done some things well. Our legacy will be how our kids do. Trump is the best thing we've done in a while for our kids and grandkids.

But of course it's the rightists who correct about everything, right?

Sounds like BS to me.

It's dumb to blame whole generations -- as if all the members of that generation agree with each other.

It's even dumber to not pay attention to dates.

Boomers were born between 1945 and 1965.

The oldest of them did not turn fifty -- the point at which you start to gain power -- until 1995.

The youngest didn't start to gain power until 2015 -- two years ago.

That's just STARTING to gain power.

You have to go forward 10 years for them to really have power.

And that doesn't happen until 2005 for the oldest; it HASN'T EVEN HAPPENED YET for the youngest.

So some moron in the Washington Post passes judgement on an entire generation, pretending it was responsible for things it had nothing to do with.

This is the stupid level at which "journalists" operate these days.

As for most boomers supporting Trump (even the left-leaning ones of the 1960s), that makes perfect sense.

The liberals/leftists fought for free speech at Berkeley in 1964.

The anti-Trumps violently shut down free speech in Berkeley just a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah, and most of them were in Junior High that summer.

If you think Boomers are bad you should have spent some time working for the Greatest Generation, yeah, you guys' Mee Maw and Paw Paw.

We Boomers haven't given you half the **** they gave us. From being called draft dodgers (that includes those of us who were drafted or enlisted voluntarily) to being denigrated for going to college to listening to endless stories of the Great Depression and complaining how they were being screwed by Social Security.

Boomers were the first generation to pay into Social Security their entire working lives and are on track to receive less than they put in. And we're actually retiring, something the Greatest Generation refused to do until they had to be carried out.

All measures we've just got done with a pretty major economic expansion (last century), been sitting on top of the world for 60+ years and what do we have to show for it?

Tons of debt, much of it from wars chasing the boogy man that ended up crumbling under itself or killing browns.
Crumbling infrastructure
Pension crisis at the state level
Social Security running short on money

We've squandered much, left our future generations in a giant hole and all the while have been patting ourselves on the backs like "we did good". I'm sure another round of tax cuts for the elite and MOAR bombs will do us right though. Bull crap.

That this tripe was published in the Washington Post should come as no surprise.

The problems we're dealing with today are a culmination of what began in 1913 ... long before the baby boomer generation. Furthermore, those who would embrace this nonsense as legitimate thought, must believe that boomers are of uniform political ideology, which is patently absurd on the surface.

Fact is, there was a covert takeover of this nation by leftist globalists beginning in earnest just after WW II, COINCIDING with the birth of the generation now being blamed for difficulties and problems that were made possible by the policies, power mechanisms, and deliberate plans established before they were born.

It takes a great deal of independent study to learn the real history not being taught, and certainly not being exposed by a media that is owned and operated as mass propaganda and mind control, by the very entities referred to before as the "globalists".

To begin re-educating and de-programming yourself, a good place to start would be to familiarize oneself with the "Reese Commission Report" of the 1950's, wherein upon congressional investigation of anti-American activities engaged in by globalist front operations, i.e. Ford Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation, and Carnegie Endowment, documents were found in the archives of these groups identifying the deliberate plans to takeover the education system, beginning at the University level, to indoctrinate future acedemics with leftist ideology, while rewriting history to further the globalist agenda.

Sounds to many like a vast conspiracy theory, but it is indeed a conspiracy fact, documented, but brilliantly kept from mass exposure, due to the control of the mass media and education system. And the results were successful beyond the wildest dreams of the globalists ....

This explains why we've seen such a backlash from the left, regarding Trump, who is by all measures attempting to dismantle these globalist mechanisms of control and national destruction, and how the pitiful and pathetic left wing loons are melting down before our very eyes. They have been so thouroghly indoctrinated with the ideological views of globalism, that they view this restoration of American national sovereignty and economic prosperity being attempted by Trump as not just bad, but sadly, as a calamity which threatens to destroy their world, rather than the legitimate effort to rest the powers away from the globalist vampires, and returning the country to the people.

The true, hard left liberal today can be identified as a mind control victim by the self destructive ideologies they embrace, from championing higher taxes, to supporting all power grabs by the globalists running the federal government. They buy into the false paradigms of man made global warming and environmentalism ... of cradle to grave welfare ... of open borders ... of importing Islamic extremists ... of every single policy imposed by the globalists, totally clueless to the true evil of the agenda behind them.

While the current generation is being programmed to believe that baby boomers are to blame for all the ills of society, the truth is, this generation is so dumbed down, they are the first generation to exist which is totally confused about such simple choices like which restroom they should use, and which gender they are.
