the best way to minimize Greenhouse gasses from generation utility amounts of electric power and energy is to replace all of our combustion units with a nuclear fission based system with full fuel recycle and breeding. This will provide base load energy without any combustion gasses. peak power can be provided with stored and pumped hydroelectric and some natural gas fired direct and co generation facilities.

The primary advantage beyond no emissions of combustion gasses is the system operated on new and used nuclear fuel to the point that the very long half life used fuel is completely consumed. This system will actually operate on the Uranium and Plutonium recovered from existing coal fired power plant waste ash dumps.

This is good energy but, to my generation of Atomophobes anyway, absolutely abhorrent. When we suggest Nuclear Power they see mushroom clouds and their fear eliminates they accepting reality instead of fiction.

Yes.

The eco movement is born from the population growth activist movement. They believe we are overpopulated, and that we need to do something to slow it. Some even believe in actually increasing the death rate through more drastic measures. These people want the population to die off at a faster rate and by removing many of the modern technology (or pricing it out of the average persons means) will lower life expectancy rates and increase the death toll.

This has been at the heart of their movement since its inception. Environment is just a tool they can use to look like they are doing good while at the same time increasing death rates.

There are certain things they can do to be proactive about that. Like jumping off of the nearest bridge.

if the stupid liberals actually wanted to, they could have done it back in 2008/9/10

solar has come a long way, and is quite efficient now, ((still has a long way to go, especially in the 'shelf life' of panels and batteries)))

did you know the DoD (military) has come up with a paintable solar...ie solar in a spray can... a can of spray paint (looks more like undercoating) and you can produce some energy.... still in the works, but looks good
http://www.nsf.gov/news/special_repo...rayonsolar.jsp

wind is the one that is NOT efficient and actually costs more to produce

I wish the liberals instead of spending 1.5 trillion on an unstimulating stimulus, and bailing out failed companies, would have said..lets spend that trillion+ dollars and put a solar electrical system on each and every single family home...this would have saved the average American home owner 200-500 dollars MONTHLY and would have eliminated the need for ''residential electric utility companies" and would have lowered our need of coal/fossil fuel for home energy.......once that program was complete, then look to expand to commercial properties .... this would have truly been a '''shovel ready''' job and put millions of construction contractors to work during the recession....... but alas the liberals aren't really interested in saving the economy or taking care of the middleclass...all the liberals are interested in doing, is lying to the populas and lining their pockets.

imagine if our liberals(who say they are for the environment ) had been smart enough to actually use that idea...every home in America would now be part of the energy grip producing energy...every home in America would be free of the municipal utility bills hitting them for 200/300/500+ a month for electric

not one politician (from either party) made even a remotely similar suggestion

and please don't say 'big oil' was against it....most ELECTRICITY is produced by COAL...and NUCLEAR..., and HYDRO.....no electrical power plants are oil run

The cleanest air in the world becomes irrelevant if you are freezing to death, can't afford food or other necessities. Energy costs affect everything. The analogy I like to use here is we can build cars that are 100% survivable in a crash but that is impractical if the masses can't afford to buy the car. Environmental laws are important but they also need to be practical.

Capitalism isn't the problem, Crony capitalism is. Capitalism works best in a free market and we haven't had a free market for around 100 years. Progressive policy is the problem here.

You contradict yourself here. I'm OK with the addition of "crony" but it's hardly just progressive policy that is the reason for this.

Remember, Communism is for the people, not the communist.

I once had the experience of listening to several hard progressives (they had a meeting with my roommate back when I was in school). They think they are better than everyone else, that these policies are for those people they term as lesser. It really was rather disgusting to hear them go on about how society would be so much better when they could purge all the "liberty" types. In fact, Marx even talks about how a certain part of society who still clings to such will need to be eliminated to at some point.

I really don't think people truly understand what is going on with these people. These are sick minds who will justify any atrocity to service their ideal. That is why it is so sad to see kids fall into this thinking and watching our country turn into what it is.
