In 2012, Ms. Corlette and co-authors completed a study of a number of states that passed laws to allow out-of-state insurance sales. Not a single out-of-state insurer had taken them up on the offer. As Ms. Corlette’s paper highlighted, there is no federal impediment to across-state-lines arrangements. The main difficulty is that most states want to regulate local products themselves. The Affordable Care Act actually has a few provisions to encourage more regional and national sales of insurance, but they have not proved popular.

Key Findings
•• To date, although all states have long had the
authority to do so, only six have enacted across
state lines legislation.
Georgia, Maine and Wyoming
enacted legislation allowing the sale of insurance
across state lines. In addition, Maine and Wyoming
encourage the formation of interstate compacts.

Those who tell you selling health insurance across state lines is the answer, are the ones lying to you and causing you to embarrass yourself by believing them!

Wow... just wow, you are soo embarrassing... even when the evidence is in your face of the stuff you put... there is LIMITED access to out-of-state but not just ANY state, but only in locations where you LIVE next to a state which means you can't go from anywhere in Georgia to Florida which means only certain plans in the regions closest to Florida which also means you are limited to what specialist you can see... your whole premise of you can go anywhere is wrong, foolish, and idiotic... You are embarrassing yourself... just stop, I can't keep correcting you over, and over, and over, and over... its boring me, you are boring me with your deceit and your inability to comprehend healthcare laws and rules... quit altering your original position... you aren't fooling anyone... its quite obvious you don't know ANYTHING about healthcare... quit googling stuff, half-understanding them, and making completely inaccurate claims...

Exactly! There is, nor ever was, a magic solution by allowing health insurance to compete across state lines. Just is GOP rhetoric that comes out every four years at campaign time.

Anger issues? Yes, the entire "cross state lines health insurance panacea that the GOP keeps spewing out is nonsense.

You said, in plain english, that poster is paying the same. You were so far off base, because you are uninformed, it was laughable. The best part about it is you keep bringing it up and reminding people how foolish your posts are.
Keep posting it's good for a laugh.

Another one of your absurd posts that have nothing to do with the truth. Again states should lighten up on their regulations in order to get insurance costs lower.
Keep making things up, it's good for a laugh.

Because you are ignorant of the FACT that states regulations increase costs and hinder competition. Even people who want regulation knows it adds to the costs. Doesn't surprise me you don't understand this.

I work in HC. Just talked with an insurance guy who said he lost over half his clients after Obamacare. His plan was $300-350 a month $20 copay, covered ER, Surgery, well visits, and prescriptions. Everything a regular person would need. Obama made all those people, who are probably 90%+ of the people using insurance, because it didn't cover substance abuse, mental health, or physical therapy. The next plan he could offer is $1200/mo with a $6,000 deductible.

THAT IS OBAMACARE.
