I went high with the income $70,000 to avoid any subsidies and to try to emulate his rate. If he earns more that 70K, I doubt he would be crying about $325/month.

Makes me think of those "I'm young and I signed up" commercials. Those are the poor suckers that are carrying most of the load while the other young people just didn't sign up.

Obamacare is a great deal if you're poor or chronically ill, they just get an F- on lining up people to pay more to cover for them....and that's why rates are skyrocketing, insurers are leaving etc.

As they say socialism , welfarism style anyway, works until you run out of other people's money.

There you go, a Hillary liberal just told you that she doesn't care how much it cost, just pay your dang bill, and shut up... typical Hillary liberal...

The ACA exchanges also sells the catastrophic plans, you attempt to not admit it shows how much a Hillary liberal you are... you provide a link and that link requires filling out a form, why don't you just post the actual plan for everyone to see... instead of hiding what a terrible plan you quoted that people in Florida should have... heartless Hillary liberal...

Nope, I am for individual responsibility. Many "young healthy people" when they get a catastrophic illness such as cancer, etc..., go to Medicare to pay their medical bills after they claim disability. Do you think that is a better plan for our country?

Read his post again. He quoted an average, not the cheapest. I later posted the cheapest.

Your posts mention 'Florida'....but did you plug in his county? It does matter. The rates differ from county to county, and the cheapest I got for him on healthcare.gov was $251.12

If you were trying to avoid triggering a subsidy, why not just skip the income portion....I'm guessing that third party site may require an income entry.

I read your other reply. Your attitude about what someone might or might not complain about at an arbitrary income level is telling. You must not know very many or any high net worth individuals who are also frugal.

Why do you care whether BMW complains about the rate or not? In your mind is the ACA some sort of holy grail that people shouldn't dare criticize?

What do you consider a "catastrophic health insurance plan?"

Do you think a 29 year old who earns more than 70K/year should go without health insurance because he doesn't want to pay and instead, use Medicare as his back-up for a catastrophic illness?
