Heard this on the radio yesterday. My reaction was that they've opened another front in the war against Uber and Lyft. If it's not bicycling, unionized taxicabs, or publicly subsidized buses or trains, it's in the crosshairs.
My girlfriend liked using Uber until her liberal friend let her know liberals aren't supposed to like Uber, so now she's anti-Uber. She also announced we won't be using Airbnb anymore even though we've had good experiences with it so far (twice in Central CA, once in SLC, more recently in Boulder, CO) because politics.
Well, it's not an honest assessment by labeling a whole area over the actions of the drivers for starters.
However yes, the meme that racism is a rural redneck thing is way off the mark.
Personally, I think it would be interesting to know the race of the drivers cross-hatched against ethnicity of the riders to see if there are any patterns.

You might want to consider a) a new girlfriend or b) explaining to your girlfriend that she doesn't get to make all of the decisions in your life.
Hmm yeah so black culture now obsessed with gangster this and gangster that , where the idea to to be as frightening and intimidating as possible for the cool factor, is now turning out to scare people. I don't suppose it helps much either that it is also more likely to be the reality since its more likely to be criminalized by blacks. Afret sall we have black mob violence almost daily now. We also have large spikes in homicides. One reason for that of course is the brilliant idea of releasing more career criminals earlier to fix the numbers. . I recall one fellow who was let out in a bit more than two years for armed robbery getting out to cause a double murder.
Why shouldn't people be allowed to discriminate? Let the market decide.
