2 Racially Charged Murder Trials have Charleston, SC On Edge

Quote:
Two South Carolina shootings that rocked the country last year and raised questions about race in America are now headed for trial, putting the historic city of Charleston on edge as the community awaits the testimony and juries' decisions.
...
Both trials are expected to last several weeks and draw national attention to the port city of about 133,000 people that is known for its cuisine and well-preserved 18th- and 19th-century architecture. But Bamberg said the cases have important distinctions. [MOD CUT/copyright violation]
Two Racially Charged Murder Trials Have Charleston, S.C., on Edge

Dylan Roof & Michael Slager were held in adjoining cells in the Charleston County jail when first apprehended & now their trials are being conducted literally across the street from one another, & simultaneously.

Folks from the area must indeed be 'on edge'. I'm feeling edgy myself, anyone else?

Death penalty for both.

Not edgy at all.

I doubt they find the cop guilty, he will probably walk. Dylan Roof is done, he should get the death penalty.

You're saying the cop won't get any time at all?

I'd wager you are incorrect with the cop.

The cop will be found guilty. This isn't a Freddie Brown type thing.

I don't live anywhere near there, but I don't see the edge.

Evidence is that they are both guilty. If guilty verdicts come down (due to evidence) and appropriate punishments happen, why would there be civil unrest?

Media BS. There is no one on edge in the least bit in Charleston, SC. Just more media hype.

Charleston showed the world how a community comes together after a tragedy such as the church shooting. No riots or unrest.
