"Let me be very clear. In my view, Democrats will not retain the White House, will not regain the Senate, will not gain the House and will not be successful in dozens of governor’s races unless we run a campaign which generates excitement and momentum and which produces a huge voter turnout. With all due respect, and I do not mean to insult anyone here, that will not happen with politics as usual. The same old, same old will not be successful.
The people of our country understand that — given the collapse of the American middle class and the grotesque level of income and wealth inequality we are experiencing — we do not need more establishment politics or establishment economics. We need a political movement which is prepared to take on the billionaire class and create a government which represents all Americans, and not just corporate America and wealthy campaign donors. In other words, we need a movement which takes on the economic and political establishment, not one which is part of it."
The old man was too far left to win a general election in this (embarrassing) country...
After your dear Hillary just got humiliated, I hope you are happy with the performance of your dear queen Hillary. What an embarrassment she was. Did worse among hispanics than Democrats in 2012! And blacks! All you guys were talking about during the primary was "the old man Bernie", "the white man", "the Jew", "blacks dislike Sanders", "Hillary is super electable", blablabla. All identity politics, which is coming home to roost. Total embarrassment. Bernie was spot on! And would never lose the entire rust belt to Trump. Freakin' WI and MI! Pathetic.

We'll never know now. Bernie certainly looks vindicated though. All of the terrible things Donald said should have disqualified him, but people were obviously just desperate for change this year -- any change. This may have been the year that they wouldn't have cared if Bernie was a socialist because he would have represented change as well.
I did vote Clinton in the primary and I am not sorry I did, but I can admit that Bernie is vindicated in my eyes. A day late and a dollar short, sure, but I'll admit it now.
Just making sure I understand correctly: if Bernie Sanders was the democrat candidate, millions more (than those who voted Hillary) would have elected him into the White House? Those angry millions, who are against government, regulations, immigration, would have voted Bernie for president, being "excited" by him?
Am I reading it correctly?

Look at how Hillary lost. She lost the rural voters, she lost the white working class, she did terrible among young people and voter turnout for her was pathetic. Her campaign had the excitement of the Baathan Death March. This was a year of anti-establishment and outsider atmosphere. And the DNC made sure they did everything they could to prevent their anti-establishment candidate from being the nominee.
I doubt Bernie could have won the presidency of this backward nation of Black Helicopter lunatics, Dixie Rednecks, Big Business sociopaths, and Religious nut-jobs.

But of course the establishment would do anything to stay in power. Isn't that natural? Bernie isn't really a democrat. And you expect them to remain idle when someone from outside wants to capture the territory?
Aside from that, you assume Bernie would had taken rural votes and young people ON TOP of what Hillary took. But that is an optical illusion: he couldn't carry the older public as Hillary did. That is still the backbone of the democrat party.
You mention excitement. But excitement of what? Would the anti government angry people that voted Trump, support Bernie's plan for free education to all, or adopting the European health care system which is 100% government managed? Do you really think so?

You don't know how right you are. I hate using words that the alt-right uses, but I have to in this case. Democrats need to give the SJWs the boot, and fast. DROP the ****ing culture wars I hope this serves as a wake up call to the Democratic Party. Time to cut the rot out. There was a time when the Democrats ran on the sweat and blood from farmers and factory workers. Now the Democrats are run by granola liberals from UC Berkeley and Berkeley is what lost PA and WI, states that SHOULD have gone to Clinton

*raises hand* What happened to Bernie in the Primaries effectively killed my loyalty to the Democratic party. It didn't push me to Trump but depending on how he does during his presidency, it may make me flip to Republican.
How the Democrats proceed in the next race... That will solidify my feelings.
