Another cry for states rights that will go unnoticed. A weaker Federal government like the founders envisioned and the presidency has a lot less value.

LOL cuz that worked out so very well for the Confederate South. Let's wait a few months and see how serious everyone really is about leaving for Canada and seceding from the United States.

Did you even read the article before you put up this misleading headline. The state of Oregon is not asking fir secession for the union. It is two morons who have written a Phony Act and asked it to be put on the next ballot initiative. If it gathers enough signatures it may be on the ballot but who knows what will happen to it. Most likely it will be rejected.

Sheesh

Two days following Donald Trump's stunning election victory, a petition for a ballot initiative in Oregon has been filed to have the state secede from the United States.

Well, a lot of us were heartbroken and disgusted that Obama was elected two terms. We came from ALL states, so we were not in a position to secede. Not all of us moved to Argentina.

Isn't the west coast supposed to eventually break off of the continent in an earthquake? It may save them the trouble of seceding. I don't know how far northward it's supposed to break, but Oregon may be part of it.

In the tradition of Trump I want to make it a good deal for us and........................ keep the real estate.

I wonder if they threaten to run away from home too, when mommy and daddy didn't give them the keys to the car.

Not talking about anyone seceding. The OP commented about Trump being a divider. Obama was to be a uniter.

I am just saying the assumptions are unnecessary and premature.

Guess Trump is going to have to build his wall up the entire West Coast from Mexico to the Canadian border? lol I am very surprised that this secession movement has not spread to the East Coast, especially Dtrump's Home Home State of NY.

Could the Midwest and South survive without both the West Coast and NE? Oh, yes, your new factories will save you!
