I believe he won't take the salary. Why would he? He probably makes more than that per month with his own private holdings and investments.
Trumps tax policies will give his own family a $7.1 billion dollar tax cut just by eliminating the Estate Tax (a tax that only effects the richest 0.2% of Americans.)

Trump family would get $7B windfall from estate-tax plan: analyst | TheHill

Its a better play for Trump to take the $7.1 billion from his tax policies, and then refuse the $400,000 salary so his supporters go around saying he is a hero.

I think its a great way to start pulling this country out of financial straights.
Trumps tax cuts for the richest 1% of Americans will raise our national debt by $6.2 trillion dollars. And even conservatives at the CATO Institute say Trumps policies will lead to the collapse of America.

First, he's going to make billions if not trillions - yes, trillions - as president. His children will be privy to every policy decision he makes before he makes it and position their assets accordingly. Secondly, Trump was just talking his usual rot. He'll take the salary.

By only taking $1 in salary, Zuckerberg is cheating the government out of SS taxes needed to keep the program solvent. He should at least take $114K in salary.

Don't be naive about Trump using his own money to pay for his campaign. Much of the money he spent went to his own companies...pilots, aircraft, food and beverage, event venues, etc.

And you should know that these politicians don't actually spend their own money. They make a LOAN to the campaign, and the loan is repaid from fundraising. Trump will likely receive a LOT more in donations, especially now that he is president elect and people want to buy favors from him, than he loaned to his campaign, by far.
Hey, just like Hillary! So he's in good company...

According to an article I read this is what happens in a blind trust

Quote:
The trust is considered “blind” because eventually, through the sale of transferred assets and the
purchase of new ones, the public officer will be shielded from knowledge of the identity of the specific assets in the trust.
The problem is that this is just not stock or mutual funds that you can selll and buy another similar one unknown to the holder. The Trump brand consists of his properties and is valuable. Why would he want to sell that and after 4 years have to start all over again.

Currently there is no requirement for a blind trust for federal officials. If we truly want this to happen in the future they should enact that law as a requirement.

Quote:
there is no federal statute which expressly requires that particular federal officials
place assets into a “blind trust” upon entering public service with the Federal
Government.

I know you are very excited but calm down. He is not going to make trillions for himself.
1 trillion is 1000 billion. Even Bill gates at 87 Billion cannot reach a trillion.

On the other hand he can make this country richer by a trillion or mere with his policies. I am glad you support that.
