What on earth gave you that idea? People all across the political spectrum have been discussing how polarized we've become for several years.

Nobody who's smart believes this, if the country was 'together' before Trump, his presence wouldnt have fractured it, no one person can break an 'unbreakable bond'. Obama has done nothing to bring everyone together, he's got 8 years of service, anyone can go back and look at his words, laws and actions over these 8 years and can also look at the results and see what he's done to bring us all together.

División of projects didn't mean hate to the counterpart. Trump took división into hate level.

On Tuesday, you guys were MORE shocked than the Democrats were that Trump won. So give it a rest. SMH
We were happily shocked, big difference.

They are unable to accept that most of the nation isn't with them and their loony ideas. This is why they howl.

The media does not have a left bias. The media has an corporatist/establishment bias. NBC has a democratic party establishment bias which is center-left on social issues but on issues that might hurt their parent company or advertisers they are largely silent. How much have you learned about the Fort Laramie Treaties and the Standing Rock Sioux's claim to the land where the Dakota Access Pipeline is being built on mainstream media? How many times has the media claimed the protesters were on private property whey they were in fact on land owned by to Army Corps of Engineers?
Great points. Many were never happy with the corporatism Bill Clinton brought to the Democratic Party, hence the lukewarm support for Hillary and Al Gore. A more progressive, more populist candidate for the party would've brought true leftists out in droves.

How can they admit that when it's the left that has been dividing the country all along for decades with group identity politics and scapegoating white identity. Obama just kicked on the afterburners. The left isn't going to own up to what they've been doing so they try to put it all on Trump.

Party politics is the religion of far too many.

Pknopp wins the internet for the day with that statement!

In my lifetime the country has only really unified in moments of crisis. Otherwise there has always been division. And this year there were right-left divisions, divisions within both parties, divisions between urban-suburban-royal, divisions along class lines and divisions along racial lines. I think Obama wanted to be a unifying leader but was too stubborn to realize you cannot unite people with no common ground. Trump definitely played a divide and conquer game- and to his credit he won.

The real story is the number of people who just drop out and take no action on anything political because they cannot find anyone who represents them or even fails to disgust them.
