Wired on the difference between a liar and a dope and the goal of all the lies.

"To Trump and his followers, it doesn’t matter if we can’t believe the President as long as they ensure we can’t believe anyone else, either. Sure, the apotheosis of all this will make traditional governance—passing laws, making treaties, regulating in the public interest—impossible. But the people in charge will be able to do all kinds of other stuff while no one’s watching, or while no one can see. They can change regulations to make them more favorable to allies and donors. They can figure out how to suppress their opponents’ voters. They can embed moneymaking enterprises into governance. The tsunami of lies will recede, leaving behind only the swamp."

Make everyone else look worse enough so this dictator has to look better.

POTUS today tweeting about phone calls made. Maybe if the WH was open and released logs to the public, like they used to under past Pres., we could believe the liar in chief.

Right now it is looking like he is trying to deflect from the child like tweets of the last 2 days prior.

By focusing on CNN and tweeting like a lunatic, Trump is trying to keep the focus off WSJ reports.

POTUS has serious problems, his tweeting is making him appear mentally ill.

Facts no longer matter. Lying is now the standard of this country, and Trump's base clings to those lies. The downfall of America is happening in front of our eyes.

Indeed.

Republicans have brought us to this point with their "swift boating" Democratic candidates and covering for a con man.

He also spoke to Japan and China yesterday and of course has spoken to France. The G20 Summit takes place this Friday and Saturday in Germany. I imagine all the phone calls relate to discussions that will take place then and in private one on one meetings.

Problem created by POTUS is you cannot believe anything he says. He needs to open the WH up by allowing the logs from the People house to be viewed again. We pay for it, he does not.

“I said last summer to a bunch of liberal friends, ‘Your worst nightmare is not a Trump presidency; it’s a successful Trump presidency.’ The successful Trump presidency scenario is one in which, despite it all, the economy does better thanks to deregulation and tax cuts, foreign policy delivers some big wins on North Korea, the Middle East.
