What a joke, yet another man of the American Aristocracy. A man inheriting a huge fortune is rewarded for it yet again. Betty DeVos inherited billions, gives Trump 10 million and becomes Education Secretary. This guy inherited billions of dollars and becomes ambassador to Britain. None of them are qualified except they inherited billions. This is the aristocracy at play. A tiny super rich elite rigging the economy to their benefit through a corrupt system of campaign finance.

Does that apply to LGBT rights? Am not sure about the wife, but her husband and much of the DeVos family are hardly onboard with marriage equality and other such matters.

Well to be fair several "plum" ambassadorships (UK, France, several other European countries, and perhaps a few Asian such as Japan) have often doled out as favors or pay back of same by presidents to the wealthy and or politically connected.
Joseph Kennedy, Walter Annenberg, John J. Louis Jr., Anne Armstrong, Matthew Barzun, Robert H. Tuttle, and Philip Lader all come to mind.
Trump was supposed to "drain the swamp" of corruption and pay back as huge numbers of people bought the bill of goods that he was selling the voters; the "self-funder", lol.

Peter Thiel has spent most of his professional life doing stuff in the Silicon Valley, not D.C.
