Then again, these are people who don't even realize it would be offensive to do what the OP suggests.

Which makes them Native Americans (not going to bother to explain).

No, because they are vandalizing the Bakken pipeline. No Sioux in my home, I want good Indians that will fight the Sioux, so we can have cheap firewater for all our mustangs.

Nearly half of my ancestors are native. Little more than have are from France. I invite myself to my Thanksgiving meal.

Seriously, we know the cartoonish backstory is a tale that barely resembles what actually happened. As centuries pass, stories change. What the holiday has become is a day to give thanks for the things you have, spend time with family catching up on each other's lives, and good food. Doesn't have to be turkey. It can be a ham, goose, or even a baked chicken. We have relatives in poor health and finances and we offer them help in the form of a meal and either food or a grocery store gift card.

I am going to a Native American's house for Thanksgiving dinner. I have celebrated Thanksgiving with this family a couple of times before. Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, beer, and wine. My gf and I are bringing homemade apple and pumpkin pie, homebrewed beer and mead. Good times.
