Most police officers are killed by whites. Many of them in the areas that supported Trump. Believe it or not, these middle America states with white hicks are a lot of the places these cops get killed. States like Montana, Kansas, Iowa, etc. have a lot of troopers that are shot by meth-smoking rednecks. It's not just in the hood with black people.

Majority Of Police Killed In 2016 Were Shot By White Men | News One

Do blacks kill cops, yea. But Blue Lives Matter ignore when whites kill cops (which is the majority of cases).....
Just like when blacks ignore when blacks kill blacks...

Most criminals will prolly tell ya that killin' cops is bad for business.
A criminal may shoot at police in order to escape; there was no other crime happening here.
These targeted assassinations of police officers isn't common crime.
Something is goin' on here that is different. It really is like war.

2006 would be 10 years back. 2008 would be Bush's last year as president. Both years had a lower number than 2007 which you chose.
We are at the end of 2016, so 2007 is appropriate, but you seem to be agreeing the numbers fluctuate. They were also high in 2011. I said earlier we should not be using every upward fluctuation to make political points, unless there was a trend, and there isn't.

It's not new. Criminals, and gangs have been at war with cops a long time. I think you might have drank some political cool-aid.

Speculation on my part that those who ambush/ execute cops do not watch cable news. Nor do they vote.

Not a whole lot, but it looks like he won't be keeping many, or any, of his campaign promises. He got the votes, so the promises served their purpose. Maybe he'll promise them again in four years.

Again
Then why did lethal shootings go down during the years Obama was President?

Citing one year over the total averaged in 8 years is dishonest.

BBC has attempted to give the topic a historical perspective.

There were an average of 115 officers feloneously killed in the line of duty in the 70's, each year. The number of officers has substantially increased in the ensuing decades when one looks at the number killed per 100,000 officers there has been a dramatic decrease.

US police shootings: How many die each year? - BBC News

Did the public blame Nixon or Ford for these murders?

Given there was no cable opinion news or Internet or social media back then, these murders were mostly local news.

Same deal with violent crime which peaked in the 80- early 90's. I have no recollection the public blamed Reagan or Bush 1. As the 90's wore on, violent crime began to substantially decline all over the US, despite very different LE strategies or no particular strategy to combat crime at the local level.

People have very selective memories, and a desire to highlight the negative to make political points. They keep talking about Chicago, as if the world was coming to an end, but the truth is that even there the number of homicides has been cut to half, even while the population has increased.
