As so many seem to be indulging themselves in this forum with still more divisive comments about how others think (AKA disagree with them), seems to me this article is timely and something to think about upon approach of a holiday that hopefully ALL Americans can enjoy, with a bit more civility and understanding of what really matters...
One woman says her family has threatened to cut off her college fund and was told her grandfather was crying in heaven over her vote for Hillary Clinton. As families gather to give thanks, many are preparing for ‘frustration and anger’
“There’s another level now where you can try not to talk politics and you just start crying because you’re so disappointed,” the woman, who requested anonymity for her family, said. For Thanksgiving dinner this week, she has even established “safe words” with likeminded relatives so they can redirect the conversation away from politics if necessary.
PS: This thread is not intended for people just looking for another chance to do more mud slinging. I won't name names. You know who you are and there are plenty other threads for that if that's what you are looking for...

The irony of this post.. is Thanksgiving-level delicious.
I'm personally glad that such division is occurring. It is a positive step in the eventual realization that the country cannot continue as currently constituted.
I think that if I can work with Cowboys and Patriots fans and not physically pummel them senseless, families of differing political ideologies can share a family dinner together without bloodshed.
Still, Hillary supporters, I feel your pain. I've seen both teams win SuperBowls. Trump winning is a nightmare to you. And the Patriots are as guilty of cheating as the worst politician. And you think Trump supporters are uneducated, have you ever talked to a Cowboys fan? You say Trump supporters are mean and intolerant, do you know just how warped and maladjusted Patriots fans are?
Just look for the good in people and what unites you and not what divides us. Can you imagine one team always winning the World Series or SuperBowl or NBA championship? Say, that's a strong argument for having many more political parties than just two major ones.
If you don't get along with someone... the first rule of avoid contact applies... it doesn't matter if its Thanksgiving or Christmas... don't pretend to like each other because you both already know you don't... it doesn't spread goodwill or happiness, it just makes you angrier... no point in being angry... be happy! Avoid contact...
