Yawn, yet another liberal thread attempting to divert attention away from themselves.

It does happen sometimes. Believe it or not, there are people who will say they are racists, and quite proudly, too.

Overt racism = claiming one's own race is superior to others.

Covert racism = assuming the black man driving that BMW is a drug dealer, or that the group of black kids walking down the street are gang members looking for someone to rob.

And yes, I have heard a few instances of black people claiming all white people are blue-eyed devils, but I have a funny feeling that is largely a reaction to people who have, quite frankly, acted like it.

I can't address racism in other cultures that get mentioned here sometimes, like China or Japan. It may be a problem there, too. I'm concerned with racism in the United States.

The reality is that neither party embraces racism and racist groups anymore. They haven't for many decades. The Republicans can get a bit testy over the fact that Democrats have managed to convince blacks that all Republicans are racists. This leads to weird bad behavior on the part of Republicans, who are annoyed at being stuck in the role of "racist party" including over-emphasising the failings of black America. Significantly higher rates of violent crime, that sort of thing. This in turn just pisses off black America and they keep voting close to 100% Democrat. The Democrats keep sealing the deal by pulling the race card at the slightest hint that something might be construed as racist even in the most round-about way imaginable.

But when it comes right down to it, neither party subscribes to the idiot notion that blacks are inherently inferior to whites. The only people stupid enough to believe that are the almost extinct white supremacist groups out there.

Democrats...keep playing the race card, keep trying to gin up discord through identity politics...and you folks are going to be a minority party for a long time. And I'm okay with that.

They realize that it is not politically possible to have completely free trade so support liberalized trade agreements. If economists ran the world there would be free trade. Classical liberals can just attempt to move toward free trade in a world where most people are ignorant in economics.
