It's made me distrust polls a bit more. And it's made me see how much BS both liberals and conservatives have.

What exactly is that going to change?

Well stated. The right regularly seizes upon anything posted on any extreme website proclaiming it to be fact.

Meh, I'm a New Yorker. As such, my expectations for the rest of the country are low. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised that so many people agreed with me.

If Repubs were not against Pro-choice, were less indebted to the religous right, were more welcoming to gay people, were really fiscally responsible they would get my vote every time.
They wouldn't get my vote every time, but at least they'd get it occasionally. Now they NEVER get it.

Accepting Syrian refugees has more to do treating others how you'd want to be treated in the same situation rather than being racist, in my opinion. Its the right thing to do, offering innocent people safe havens when they no longer have a home.
I personally have never known anyone who supports illegal immigration.

However, I do not feel the Syrian refugees should come here. Safe zones should be created over there.

I intended to vote only the down ballot because I could not stand either nominee.. In the voting booth I decided to vote Trump.

I do not buy into the country going to hell in a handbasket.

My life was not going to change no matter who won.

Trump will not be as bad as some fear. Nor will he be as transforming as some expect.

People think giving some illegal immigrants, who've proven to be productive, valuable assets to our country, a pathway to citizenship somehow dismisses the fact that Obama also has deported more illegal immigrants than any other president. It doesn't.

People think pardoning approximately 70 people makes Obama some sort of crime lover. It doesn't. Please check out pardons by FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, Reagan, Nixon and GWB.

Mostly I agree with you.

I favor a path to citizenship for a small percentage of illegal immigrants...those who have proven (as you say) to be valuable assets to our country. But set them aside for a while. First, get rid of any illegal immigrant who has committed a felony. Next get rid of any illegal immigrant who can be tied to gang activity. Then we can reconsider all the others. At the same time, forget the stupid wall unless you plan on building it out into the Gulf Of Mexico. Put the United States military in charge of border security.

We may be PARTLY at fault, but the main fault is within Syria itself.
