Interesting, but they won't be moving until Sasha graduates from high school.

Maybe he'll be spotted in Palm Springs eventually.

The Obamas Are Moving To California

Quote:
The Obamas are reportedly moving to California. Despite renting this family home in Washington DC from January, they are said to have purchased a new house in Rancho Mirage, a city located just outside Palm Springs in California, according to The New York Post.

Rancho Mirage is home to the presidential getaway Sunnylands – said to be the West Coast version of Camp David – meaning that family have probably visited plenty of times and that's why they have decided to settle there.

A hundred miles further west would have been nicer.

Not surprising. At various times over the last 8 years when they spent time in Rancho Mirage, there was speculation that the might settle there after his time in the White House. The Secret Service had a presence there from 1977 to 2011, as that was where Betty Ford lived.

LOL.

Beat me to it.

Only I was going to ask, not tell .

A friend of mine splits his time between a house in a hilly part of the SF Bay Area and his house in Rancho Mirage. Besides golf, my friend likes being able to have a relatively flat lot and be surrounded by mountains. He always wanted an Olympic sized swimming pool, and was able to do that pretty easily at his place in Rancho Mirage. It the Bay Area...no way for lots of reasons. His mother-in-law came out to visit them during the winter, leaving her snowy, rust belt hometown. She said..."I'm never leaving". She was dead serious. She's been living in their guest house for 20 years .
