Yes. If you are born in the US, you are automatically a US citizen. This is a real problem. If we eliminate this policy and simply make the policy that one of your parents must be a legal citizen (which is already a policy), it completely eliminates anchor babies as a thing.

Anchor babies are a problem because they cannot be deported, but the parents can. How can you deport parents if they have a baby to care for?

It happens. Not often -but it has -and relatives take the child. Many times, the dad is returned bug not mom, especially if recently gave birth. The issue is not the anchor babies, is the whole enchilada -the immigration system need upgraded and brought to this century.

They can take their U.S. born minor children with them any decent parents would. Nothing is stopping them.

Wong Kim Ark wasn't about a baby born from illegal alien parents.

At the time, no, but the way the case was interpreted allows anyone not in a diplomatic capacity in the US to have a US citizen born child here. That's how I was able to get US citizenship, and John McCain

Considering that immigration since 1965 has pretty much destroyed the working class's economic situation, on top of burdening it with insane tax drains that make it almost pointless to work.

America should have the same ultra-restrictive immigration policies as most nations in the world, where you have to prove you are bringing money INTO the country on top of being able to support yourself/your family for at least 10 years without working. Remember, one child costs about $15,000 a year to the school system for operating costs alone (ignoring capital costs of tens of millions per school building), and immigrants have very large families compared to native born Americans.

It's relatively common for people to get Congressmen to go to bat for them on things such as getting them citizenship when they otherwise wouldn't qualify. That speaks more to the low quality of the Congressmen, not to the high quality of their case.
