Not in this discussion and it has no validity to your example.

And yet, look at all the children who don't have food, shelter, education and other basic necessities. People are vocal about abortion being "murder," but why don't they seem to care about these children who are suffering right now... the children who were born to women who were unable to care for them properly. That fetus that they're working so tirelessly to protect does turn into a baby. Babies are expensive. And children need food, shelter, education... when they don't get these things, it often has a very adverse effect. The people who so adamantly wanted them to be born didn't do a thing to help them AFTER they were born and in fact, look down upon them when they need help.

Talk about disconnects!

The same folks who are so vocal about abortion being murder are the same ones who yell and scream about not giving money to those who are in need. But as long as women are 'punished,' that's all that really matters. I have relatives like this. They scream, "abortion is murder!" And then in the next breath, they insist that no one's gettin' their hard earned dollars, no siree, bob. That's about as disconnected as it gets, in my opinion. If a person is going to claim "Christian values" as the reason they're opposed to abortion, they'd also better subscribe to the Christian value of loving their neighbors. That involves caring about the well-being of the children born.

[quote=shihku7;46325995]I find it incredible that 92% of the poll responders said the woman should not be punished.

National polls show that about 50% of Americans think abortion is murder.

There's an incredible disconnect here.

No ,that is not correct .50% believe in "pro choice" it was and has never been asked if they believe it is murder.

the questions doesn't say past or future abortions.
past abortions let God deal with it and he will in his way .
future ones .. get the twisted doctors and the rest will take care of itself . but you can't stop stupid or evil. of course it won't stop it .
but certainly we should never make evil legal.

It is a contradiction, IMO, to allow abortions under the law, under the premise that the fetus is not an independent being and not a human being with rights until birth, yet make it a crime (fetal homicide) when the unborn child of a mother who is killed dies along with the mother. Seems to me either the fetus has rights or it doesn't. I guess these very blue states don't see, or refuse to acknowledge the contradiction.

If someone murders a pregnant woman... a woman who wanted the pregnancy and was prepared to raise a child, that's different from a woman who gets pregnant and chooses to abort. The woman who chooses to abort still has bodily autonomy and can choose to do with her own body what she will.

Eating meat might go against someone's personal belief system but that doesn't mean that everyone else in the world is going to have the same beliefs. That person can rail against meat eaters all they want, but we all have the choice of what we do with our own bodies. And that's the way it should be.

We don't need a bunch of rich old men telling women what is best for them. That time has passed, thankfully. And women certainly don't need "punishment" for legally obtaining abortions.

When does life begin? Conception, quickening, birth?

The day the Congress instructs the IRS to allow deductions for a fetus, is the day life begins.

No I haven't. I have noticed how the true anti-lifers don't follow the principles they want others to adhere though. Curious, isn't it?
