What ever gave anyone the idea Trump would "up hold" anything???
He claimed that Obama was in direct violation of the constitution on many issues yet here he is in November recommending an obvious violation, and some people are jumping through hoops to defend him.
Before 2008 only actual members of the military were supposed to salute the flag. Members of the military would have known this more than anyone.
As I said to me I did in the "60's" but my grandsons do it now and they live on a Military base ,they do it becuase they respect what their Dad does and the country they live in.I will tell you that more than one military veteran or solder came out and supported the QB of the 49's saying we fight so he can do this .

They burn the flag because they are passionate about an issue, and think that America can change if enough attention is brought to that issue. You don't go out and burn leaves or tablecloths as a means of protest. You burn things that have meaning, to you and to the public at large. If what you burn has no meaning, it has no impact.

Most are "students" and only do it to get out of class.

It's just red meat for the base.
It's a symbolic piece of cloth that in most cases is made in China.
He has the freedom to fly that flag. He is just exposing himself as a bigot and being pro-genocide. I have the freedom to criticize him for it. I have the freedom to burn a Nazi flag.
Three flags I would burn if the opportunity presented itself:
1) Nazi flag
2) Confederate flag
3) Soviet flag
Safe places are for all the crying lefties who can't grasp realty.
We didn't see any of this from the repubs when Obama won.

You are entitled to your opinion. thankfully MOST Americans disagre with you.
It is a SYMBOL of our country and the treatment of it shows respect for it.
It is a symbol of all the men and women who, over our existence, have sacrificed, sometimes with their lives, to make this such a great country.
It represents us to the rest of the world.
If you have np patriotism for your country I suggest you move to place suited to your liking.
Or are they type who just uses what we have to offer and feel no obligation to show respect for your country?

You sit here and argue nationalism to me, a concept that is at odds with the founding basis of this country. You defy the very concept of why we are free and ignore these basic principals to promote worship of objects while at the same time demanding adherence to action which defies the very thing you claim to support by your flag worship.
You point to objects and symbols and act as is if this defines you, when it is your actions that define you and one is a hypocrite if they demand servitude to an object as it means they have no concept or clue as to what this country is, they are merely ignorant aggressors urinating on the very "symbol" they claim to adore.
