Do you think there should be a muslim registry or database in the U.S.?

It would indeed be unconstitutional to ban a particular religion. However, Islam is more than just a religion. With Sharia law it is also a political ideology, and a dangerous one incompatible with western civiization.
If we waged wars in the past to stop the spread of certain political ideologies, such as national socialism or communism, then certainly we can do whatever we need to safeguard us from the political ideology of Islamic sharia law and terrorism. Especially within our OWN borders.
So how would you propose having a Muslim registry without asking someone their religion? Would you just base it on their looks? Their country of origin? What about if they were American born, do you go off of their parents or grandparents country of origin? What if they are no longer a Muslim, does that not matter because of where their parents came from and what they look like?
What about Americans converting to Islam? Go to jail, lose their citizenship, and be deported too? How is anyone going to even know who these people are? Celebrity Janet Jackson announced her conversion, but how many non famous American Citizens don't? AND never legally changed their names from their US Christian Birth Certificates? I read somewhere that approximately (guess?) one third of all Muslims in US are African Americans (converts?). No way to know for sure, if they never tell anyone about it. Why SHOULD they?
I asked a former coworker, and I was the only person who he told, why he kept his Christian birth name. He told me, and I quote, "I face enough discrimination as a Black Man in America, why should I tell the world I am a Muslim and face even more discrimination?"
Deport these Americans, and Janet too, back to Africa? Damn, double slap in the face; Religious and Racial.
USCIS --already has list of who is who- its creating a special list so they can be monitored- you all scream at the camera at the light-- it must be the same for all- we have our own terrorists and anarchist- gangs etc too - already being watched
How is one going to prove who is a muslim and who isn't? I think this database does not make any sense, because the people who are actually dangerous would not commit themselves to registration but just try to continue in the underground. It is like asking foreigners at the visa application "are you going to do any terror attack in the United States?". I wonder if someone ever said "Yep, I will do that".
To whatever Country or Continent they belong in!!!
Alex, common sense for a $1,000.00.
What if they are an American who converted to Islam or was born into the religion?
