In my ideal world, Ron Paul, but I know it is impossible.
Someone mentioned Patraeus, it is a great choice. But I want Gen. Mattis as secretary of defense, so need a civilian to be the Secretary of state, You don't want too many millitary men there.
Jon Huntsman would make a great Secretary of State, he should have been the choice for president in 2012. Intelligent, experienced, served governor of Utah, ambassador to China and Singapore for several years, speaks Chinese and plays the piano.
I almost never agree with you, but I agree with you on this one. Jon Huntsman Jr. is a good choice. The executive offices of the Huntsman Corporation are located in Salt Lake City where Founder and Executive Chairman Jon Sr. lives, but the corporate headquarters is located here in The Woodlands, TX, and CEO Peter Hunstsman (Jon Jr.'s brother} lives here. I'd say the family generally enjoys a good reputation around here, and Peter was named to the Board of Directors of one of the major local hospital systems, Memorial Hermann, in 2015.
This will be drawn out as long as possible since Trump learned a thing or three from his reality shows. But, ultimately, I think you are all wrong and the final pick will be Sarah Palin because she can see Russia from her house!
I do like huntsman. Calm - diplomatic.. And has experience as a statesman, but kellyanne said had to be someone can agree and follow trumps directives and be loyal to him. So can huntsman live with trump??
Regardless of your party affiliation, if you had to go with one of the three, Giuliani, Romney, or Petraeus, who would you choose and (intelligent reasons) why?
Petraeus if these are my only choices. But my first choice would be Huntsman. He's very intelligent, fully qualified, former ambassador to China and a successful governor.
I was in Tampa when petraeus was in command, that whole gfriend thing and the elite friends. Lots weird stuff. UYou want to put him where you blamed hilly for the same? I am really not pleased of Carson for HUD... Pick people been working their arses of in those areas and know the systems... I am afraid for that dept.

Huntsman is actually the pick that makes the most sense, but if it has to be out of those 3, maybe Petraeus, but that does indeed destroy the "lock her up" narrative.
I'm sure more posters than you know agree with you, all valid reasons. However, I'll rephrase my question to be crystal clear:
If you were pushed up against the wall (should I add firing squad?), and had to endorse one of the three candidates of the day (who knows, the contenders could change tomorrow)—Giuliani, Romney, or Petraeus—which would you choose?
If pushed against the wall....... of the three.......
Petraeus.
Has intimate knowledge of military matters, and the inner workings of the CIA.
He already knows just how far any issue can be pursued/pushed/insisted upon with whatever foreign entity negotiations are being undertaken with.
Giuliani, probably better served in a "security advisory" position of some sort.
Romney, perhaps as special counsel, or negotiator, (Ambassadorial position?).......
I am glad he expanded the list, the only person on the list was Petraeus and I wasn't thrilled with that prospect... I wonder who is on the new list...
