What was disgusting about Michelle Obuma is when she said that for the first time she was "proud to be an American." That IS disgusting. What a slap in the face to the brave men and women who serve in our military! This coming from a First LAdy. Inexcusable!!!!

For me and many members of the military Michelle Obuma is lower than snake feces!!!

I know that people will scoff at the source however
People magazine is reporting that Ivanka will take
on the role as first lady and she and her
family are making the move to DC.
Her cause will be global warming That's what global
warming has been denoted to, a first lady cause.

Yes, there was an extreme amount of misogyny and racism hurled at Michelle by people on this forum and elsewhere. Yet she handled her role as FLOTUS with class and dignity.

My hubby was would have told you to put on a straight face and serve - no opinions needed. He served under several administrations, and while they are at the helm and you are on the payroll - ZIP it. talking bad of the Commander in Chief and his family during those times is inexcusable-

Well, I am going to give my 2 pennies on this. I understand where she was coming from. Before the 2008 election, I never once thought a Black man would be President. I never once thought anyone was ready. I remember the night of the election. I remember watching President Obama get elected. That was one of the happiest moments for me. I started thinking "maybe this country is changing for the better. Maybe we really have moved past the racial stuff in this country". I certainly felt hopeful, being a Black American, and sometimes feeling like I was the most unwanted.

I agree. I'm a white woman and I never thought I'd live to see the day we had a black president.
