His sentencing will not come down for another month. BUT at least he admitted he deprived Walter his Rights. Federal Sentencing guideline aren't like STATE guidelines.. Soit could very well be life w parole. But I'm betting he will have to be segregated from the common area due to his LE passed!

I don't really care at this point because NOTHING will undo what he did.. He's out of a job.. He's a pariah to anyone who expects LE to follow the law. Extreme views on all Thugs deserve it is far too often some sort an excuse to slaughter unarmed citizens. Spread innuendo's will never exonerate anyone who has ILL WILL towards another.

Civil Right Violation in of itself should speak volumes!! But defence of such behaviour has become so transparent to anyone who sees and knows all about "Abuse of Power" folks!!

I hope this now fired LE Officer gets his just desserts.. I know his Final Judgement will meat out his sentence because what's in his heart and mind is ALL known!! Pleasing out is on earth just a way to avoid LIFE w/o parole! Evil intent with badged Officers will never turn out well.. Better they fired him instead of shifting him to another juristicion to continue his agenda!!

We, ALL know all about how Priests were removed and moved about when they crossed boundaries...

I hate plea deals but his family is satisfied, and in the long run it will be easier on them.

Yes, and I cannot believe how calm and grateful for some form of justice as MANY killed under the guise of Law enforcement has far too often never got accountability!! Good on them..

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — The Latest on fired police officer Michael Slager's plea agreement in the death of Walter Scott. (all times local):

4:15 p.m.

An attorney for the family of a black motorist shot to death by a white South Carolina police officer says justice has been done with the officer's guilty plea.

Chris Stewart told reporters on Tuesday that the family of Walter Scott is thankful for the help and support shown to them by local and state officials after the 50-year-old motorist's April 2015.

But Stewart pointed out that verdicts against officers like Michael Slager are rare. Stewart says it's the job of citizens to hold their public officials accountable, and to object whenever the justice system treats officers differently from civilians.

Stewart spoke after Slager pleaded guilty in federal court to violating Scott's civil rights. Prosecutors dropped state murder charges as part of the deal.

Scott's brother Anthony also spoke, saying this represents a victory for his family which can now begin to heal.

smh.. it's a freaking shame some people are so stuck in their ways they can't convict one cop of murder even though all the evidence shows it was murder.

Mrs. Scott saying she'd forgiven Slager showed much grace on her part, but was beyond heart breaking nonetheless. Not many of us would be able to do that.

There must be something in the water of Charleston if they can forgive this AND Dylann Roof. They have more forgiveness in them than I would.

From what I have read-- the sentencing is up to the judge and is wide open. It could be the same as a murder conviction.

He is looking at about 10 years because DA agreed to give him less the max sentence but ultimately up to judge

Personally that is not fair simply because he planted evidence and lied

He agreed to take this plea deal instead of facing state charges again. He will get a much better deal under this plea agreement than he would if he faced a jury. I bet he gets less than 10 years for shooting a unarmed man in the back. Only in America.
