President-elect on Tuesday ripped Boeing for the cost of a new Air Force One plane, calling for the contract to be cancelled.
"Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion. Cancel order!" Trump tweeted.
... for most Americans to realize the dumb twitter outbursts from President-elect Tweet are merely distractions and meaningless for anything other than being smokescreens for his agenda?
What people are saying is that President (elected or otherwise ) should keep his opinions to himself and not tweet it out.Boeing's number have been falling since the Tangerine opened his mouth.
IF, I repeat IF, reality doesn't match what Trump said, he should keep his mouth shut.
I will also repeat, again, that we don't know the details and are debating this based upon the scant information reported (reported not known).
If you talk to companies who have done business (or tried to) with Trump, it is common for him to dishonor contracts after the other party has already invested & spent a considerable amount of money assuming the contract would be honored. The R&D for this kind of custom plane is not cheap. Probably a better deal could be negotiated, but why attack the company in public? Their stock value lost $1.5 billion after the Trump-attack.
His planes are REALLY old. And full of gold. I bet they're the tackiest planes in the sky.
Still one of the most expensive private planes in the world!
