Constitution's First Amendment doesn't allow to incite violence which is exactly what online radicalization does. You cannot yell "Fire" in a crowded area... that is not covered by the First Amendment.

nice spin

You cannot yell "fire" in a theater because it obstructs commerce. It has nothing to do with the First Amendment. Back in the day, theaters were known to catch fire and people lost their lives. A competing theater would send people into a theater and yell "fire" to interfere with the performance and cost the operator revenue. This was outlawed because of it.

Really? How does one man make a "mockery" of the institutions of the United States Navy and Marine Corps?

Republicans, hopped up on a steady drip of fake news, resort to wild hyperbole at every opportunity, and over time this gross exaggeration of reality becomes the norm.

Thats why fake news like Breitbart has now become accepted as mainstream journalism by low information Americans.

"We’re a nation that believes freedom can never be taken for granted and that each of us has a responsibility to sustain it. *The universal right to speak your mind and to protest against authority, to live in a society that’s open and free, that can criticize a President without retribution -- a country where you're judged by the content of your character rather than what you look like, or how you worship, or what your last name is, or where your family came from -- that's what separates us from tyrants and terrorists."

We do have the universal right to speak our mind and protest. That's the 1st amendment. He just reiterated/reminded us of that. He didn't say it was a soldiers duty to question authority and criticism him ("Trump"). The solders, just like all citizens, have the right to speak critically and protest... but not necessarily their duty to question the authority of the Command and Chief.

nice spin

What was actually said:

And what complicates the challenge even more is the fact that for all of our necessary focus on fighting terrorists overseas, the most deadly attacks on the homeland over the last eight years have not been carried out by operatives with sophisticated networks or equipment, directed from abroad. They’ve been carried out by homegrown and largely isolated individuals who were radicalized online.
...
And the reason we won’t have that is because technology makes it impossible to completely shield impressionable minds from violent ideologies. And somebody who is trying to kill and willing to be killed is dangerous, particularly when we live in a country where it’s very easy for that person to buy a very powerful weapon.

Obama blames the technology that allows the very radicalization of impressionable minds online. But also states the very same technology can be used to shield from such ideologies. We do live in a country that it is easy to buy a powerful weapon.... just as most pro-2nd amendment people want. He stated a fact. We do have a great system that allows for gun ownership. He didn't place blame on gun ownership.... he blamed it on technology.

nice spin.

It's not spin, it's fake news. They know their audience is not smart enough to know the difference. And they're right.

The Breitbart crowd should know how to read a speech transcript, since they can read that awful dead man's website just fine, but it seems as if they don't know how.

Let's start by naming a new destroyer after an obscure homosexual activist Harvey Milk! Excuse me?
That was done to antagonize those in the military. Does that seem like a plan?
That will surely be overturned once President Trump occupies the Oval Office.

You just named an example of a limitation of First Amendment right...

again.. do you not understand the concept of "on topic". I hope you are not a representative sample of Breitbart's readership.

BO kept us safe and out of stupid wars with no way out. No attacks on our soil (remember 9/11) and last I checked OBL is dead.

Has also staved off a war with Iran through a smart diplomatic move rather than let Israel start a proxy war. Kept us out of Syria which was a smart move and has ISIS on the run as they are a shell of what they were.

Let's see what Trump does with his turn in the bucket!
