Really? And you graduated from High School? Serious question. If you made it through all 12 years of schooling and never heard of Harriet Tubman, then that is a sad example of how this country's education system has been failing for a very long time.

Andrew Jackson was a homicidal maniac. Anyone who has read even a few books on American history knows that.

Take him off and put Tubman on. It's about time Jackson be sent to the archives.

I want Trump to go with whichever will cost less time and money. This is silly. It's just a picture. More important things to tend to.

What? You never heard of Harriet Tubman before? Forget about currency, folks. We have a bigger problem.

American history is not taught with the importance it used to be. I bet a lot of younger people have never heard of her.

Sadly, very very true. When my son was in HS his US history teacher did try, to his credit. He loved having my son because he'd been doing Living History and reenactment with me since he was little. And he knew his history. Only one other student in the class was as knowledgeable, and he and his folks were also in our group. We were cavalry and they were artillery.

We did a couple good presentations in character at the invitation of the teacher. But for the most part US history starts much much later, bypassing the Revolution, maybe touching on the Civil War,and then skipping to the 1960s. You'd be hard pressed to find any student in HS who know who Harriet Tubman was. Or John Brown or Frederick Douglas.
