7.2 Students analyze the geographic, political, economic, religious, and social structures of the civilizations of Islam in the Middle Ages.

1. Identify the physical features and describe the climate of the Arabian peninsula, its relationship to surrounding bodies of land and water, and nomadic and sedentary ways of life.

3. Explain the significance of the Qur'an and the Sunnah as the primary sources of Islamic beliefs, practice, and law, and their influence in Muslims' daily life.
4. Discuss the expansion of Muslim rule through military conquests and treaties, emphasizing the cultural blending within Muslim civilization and the spread and acceptance of Islam and the Arabic language.
5. Describe the growth of cities and the establishment of trade routes among Asia, Africa, and Europe, the products and inventions that traveled along these routes (e.g., spices, textiles, paper, steel, new crops), and the role of merchants in Arab society.

The Charlie Brown poster isn't even close to doing that.

Despite that glaring you in the face, I fully expect you to come up with excuses for it.

You can't honestly be arguing not displaying something in a certain category is somehow anti that thing or endorsing something. Does not wearing the hat of a Major League Baseball team when I leave the house somehow imply I don't like baseball?

It's fine to teach the historical significance and impact of religions in public school. These things obviously continue impacting the world today. If you can't see the difference between that and essentially displaying religious propaganda in a public school I'm sorry for you.

So is having LGBQ clubs on campus a thinly veiled attempt to promote homosexuality? Your argument uses the same logic as someone who says that seeing a gay person will turn you gay.

How does the display of a bible verse in a public school trample on your First Amendment rights?

Congress shall make no law:

1.) respecting an establishment of religion,
2.) or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
3.) or abridging the freedom of speech,
4.) or of the press,
5.) or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petitition the Government for a redress of grievances.

How does a bible verse ESTABLISH a RELIGION?

The poster is not the establishment of religion by the government. You are not required to follow the verse contained on the poster or be taxed or imprisoned, are you?

The poster is not prohibiting anyone to disregard it or it's message.

The poster does not prohibit you from voicing your opinion in opposition to its message.

The poster does not prohibit you from writing a letter to the editor of the school or local newspaper to voice your opposition to the poster or its message.

The poster does not prohibit you assembling with others of different faiths or no faith at all and discussing your beliefs or lack thereof.

WHAT exactly does this poster and its message do to violate your First Amendment rights?

Homosexuality is not a religion and not mentioned in The Constitution.

Correct, it becomes religious when a bible verse is added.

So what? The First Amendment says freedom OF Religion, NOT freedom FROM religion.

Maybe not, but would the school take it down in that case?
