Trump's upset that the matter is being resolved without his "help".

It's NOT military equipment, it is a CIVILIAN piece of commercially available research equipment.

As an oceanographer, we work with the navy research ships often to launch and retrieve equipment, especially when working over seas, in a country like the Philippines.

Why do you people always pick on Walmart?
In the past, I have looked at some other stores in the area;
Cracker Barrel: Nearly all the "stuff" in their gift shop "Made In China".
A local Native American souvenir shop: About 50% of the gifts/souvenirs "Made In China". Very little stuff made by real Native Americans or Indigenous People.
Tractor Supply Company: Lots of "Made In China" goods.
K mart (before it closed): Lots of "Made In China" stuff
Ace Hardware: The same.
Big Lots: The same.
Target: The same.
Toys R Us: The same.
Harbor Freight: The same.
So, why always Walmart as the bad guy?

I see the Op only singled out Walmart in the title. In the body of the post other stores were mentioned.
Yay.

Consumers who buy Chinese prefer inexpensive items. Who is anyone to force them to pay more?

Wal-Mart is just the biggest name out there. Same reason everybody talks about McDonalds when they talk about fast food.

Practically everything is made in some foreign country , even things assembled here are made from foreign made parts . I guess at one time we did make cardboard boxes . I bought a TV that was in a card board box . On the box in big letters it said MADE IN THE USA . On the Tv it said made in Taiwan .

Except for electronics the US makes just about every common manufactured good at a competitive price and high level of quality. Plan ahead, order online, cut out the middle man. It's only a google away.
Why are you angry at the Chinese for "taking our jobs"? The jobs were brought to China by our companies looking to reduce their wages so that they can have a greater profit margins. In return, these companies are listed on the US stock exchanges and if you have a retirement fund, your portfolio managers most likely would buy the stocks of the most profitable companies as part of your retirement portfolio. Yes, so many jobs are taken to China, but it is the American companies that are getting far richer than the Chinese workers, who are generally paid very minimally. So, in the end, who really benefit? The Chinese workers who work 14 hours shifts or the Americans, both old and young, who have retirement portfolios and who are planning on retiring to Florida?

You dont need to buy for Walmart. No one is putting a gun to anyone's head to buy at Walmart.

True. I think Boeing gets 30% of its parts from outside the U.S. My Red Wing boots are made in the U.S. with imported materials.
