In the great Conservative tradition, he'll spend like a drunken sailor when it suits his agenda.

I love Eisenhower as he was a moderate and the last president to have a Fiscal Year where the national debt shrunk.

However, if Trump is a pre-Pearl Harbor rightist - there may be some good from this. We have too many military bases around the world protecting rich nations from weaker nations that drains our money.

Even Obama increased our non-combat zone military bases.

It is absurd that we have to spend so much money every year to defend 510 Million people in Europe with a GDP of $16.2 Trillion from 144 Million people in Russia with GDP of $1.3 Trillion... Europe can afford to spend lavishly on their people as we cover half of their defense for them.

It's not about policy. It's that liberals don't like him. Trumpistas, like Trump, wanted the win, pure and simple. Governance has nothing to do with it.

Come on now. Most US bases in NATO countries aren't there to defend Europe, they're there as forward bases to project power in the Middle East. Up until very recently, the heaviest US combat unit in Europe was a Stryker brigade.

The only people who ever cared that "Trump is not really a Republican" are those on the left. (Nevermind that he's been a Republican for some time...but because he was once 'not a Republican', the left couldn't stand it and had to announce it to everyone in the Republican party...as if that mattered.)

It doesn't matter. You still don't get it. You still are not understanding why he was voted in by so many Republicans.

The information, the reason, is on this site. You need to take some time to look through the archives and find that answer. It's been answered repeatedly.

Hint: He has not been sitting in politics voting on issues while telling us he's a Republican. Try to understand the difference, and you might find your answer so you can quit starting all of these threads that say, "Even though you've all written this a thousand times over, I still don't get it because it doesn't fit the narrative."

Hint 2: This movement was started long before Trump came on the scene. Unfortunately, between the lying media and spineless politicians who would not strike back at accusations, voices were not heard.
