A free press is the cornerstone of the American democracy. It cannot exist without it.
They will not succeed, if American citizens have anything to say about it. And we do.
A President who wants reports to be what he says they should be, photographs that show him falsely looking younger and with no double chin. That's an attempt to dismantle our democracy and hand over the country to the oligarchy.
Are they Americans or not? Do they believe in a free press or not? Do they believe in democracy or not? Makes one wonder.
Trump plans to replace the free press with "Trump TV." He gives direct video messages to the masses, with his makeup just so, and no double chin in sight. "Reports" of the news.
Sound much like Big Brother TV to you? "No, citizens. The sky is not blue. It's green. The sky has always been green here in Oceania."
What is happening to the Republicans in this country? First it was the Patriot Act, where they hand over their freedom from government secret surveillance with no legal oversight, no questions asked....to trying to stop the free press from reporting unfavorable news or showing pics not approved by the government. What has happened to them? Have they lost their minds?

Criticize, yes. Pick out a news article and point out where it's wrong, citing factual authority. That's criticism.
To make a blanket statement is an attack against the free press. We need a press that holds politicians' feet to the fire, does investigations, and reports what no one wants reported. That is what separates our country from a dictatorship or party-controlled government like Russia.
If Trump and his cronies go overboard on attacking the press, he'll be run out of office.

Again, there is a free press now, citizen journalists. Look at who is trying to censor the true free press, it's the large media corporations, why, because they know the real reporting going on by citizen journalists is a direct threat to their fake news/propaganda.

I watched Maddow talking about this. She didn't want to acknowledge the media's constant attacks and lies about Trumps wife or Trump and kept talking over any reference to the lies.

I not only condone it I support it. It is well known that MSNBC, CNN are the leftist media, they hate Trump so Trump said "*********" and used twitter to get his message directly to the people UNFILTERED bypassing the biased media.
