Are they Americans or not? Do they believe in a free press or not? Do they believe in democracy or not? Makes one wonder.

Trump plans to replace the free press with "Trump TV." He gives direct video messages to the masses, with his makeup just so, and no double chin in sight. "Reports" of the news.

Sound much like Big Brother TV to you? "No, citizens. The sky is not blue. It's green. The sky has always been green here in Oceania."

What is happening to the Republicans in this country? First it was the Patriot Act, where they hand over their freedom from government secret surveillance with no legal oversight, no questions asked....to trying to stop the free press from reporting unfavorable news or showing pics not approved by the government. What has happened to them? Have they lost their minds?

Criticize, yes. Pick out a news article and point out where it's wrong, citing factual authority. That's criticism.

To make a blanket statement is an attack against the free press. We need a press that holds politicians' feet to the fire, does investigations, and reports what no one wants reported. That is what separates our country from a dictatorship or party-controlled government like Russia.

If Trump and his cronies go overboard on attacking the press, he'll be run out of office.

The free press today are the citizen journalists.

The biggest story of the election was reported by a citizen journalist (Hillary collapsing) as Hillary's campaign lied, and the msm covered for her.

People like you are proof that the propaganda still works on some, because you believe the corporate media is the free press, and you believe all the complete nonsense the msm spews about Trump to the point you make up your own conspiracy theories about him.

The NYT is not a legitimate news organization.

Again, there is a free press now, citizen journalists. Look at who is trying to censor the true free press, it's the large media corporations, why, because they know the real reporting going on by citizen journalists is a direct threat to their fake news/propaganda.

Couldn't help but put two and two together last night after Putin gave his ANNUAL news conference. That is exactly where Trump is headed. Once a year!

Assume you are talking about Trump. Tarnished his reputation? uhmmmmm....what reputation was that? Having lived in NYC for many years and seeing the Trump dramas unfold week after week--tabloid style--he didn't have much of a reputation, other than being a dirty, low class slime--to tarnish. Sort of like saying my plastic fork is tarnished!

Numerous people give lip-service to a "free press," without acknowledging that a 'free press' without truth or integrity boundaries, is only promotional advertising, not news! Following the election, even the left has been forced to recognizes that today's "free press" has become only a lap dog for the left -- and may as well be a state-run monopoly.

In what totalitarian regime is feeding debate questions or only tossing softballs to HRC and POTUS, while negatively spinning and viciously attacking everything the GOP does, a 'free press?' Complaints about the media stranglehold on "news networks" is no longer laughed at by the leftist media, because the American public finally woke-up and rejected the Dems, HRC and also their leftist "free press" minions.

The same thing could happen with the GOP and Fox News or other networks, if they are not likewise held to standards of truth and integrity. But, for now, the plaintive whining of the left about a "free press" is laughable. To them, the only 'free press' is the one that spouts their leftist ideology 24/7 ... while they shriek that any opposition is the 'gestapo.'

Exactly the truth. They're so brainwashed they don't even see it. Pure insanity.

The media has more than earned a well deserved smack down.

The Trump Trauma butthurt flooding this forum is the most histrionic I've seen since the Texas Longhorns defeated the heavily favored USC Trojans in the 2006 Rose Bowl.
The tears of defeat are going to cause more climate change and raise the ocean levels to inundate the coastlines of the world.

These next four years certainly are going to be entertaining what with the drama queens flipping out with every Trump tweet & twitch.

And no, I didn't vote for the guy.

Turnabout fair play as far as I'm concerned . The liberal media assaulted Trump with everything they could dream up from the very first time he mentioned running for president . Now they're whining & crying because he tweets what he really wants to say instead of giving them a chance to spin & twist his words into something they'd like to say . The liberal media has proven itself useless anyway .

I watched Maddow talking about this. She didn't want to acknowledge the media's constant attacks and lies about Trumps wife or Trump and kept talking over any reference to the lies.

I not only condone it I support it. It is well known that MSNBC, CNN are the leftist media, they hate Trump so Trump said "*********" and used twitter to get his message directly to the people UNFILTERED bypassing the biased media. Good for him. Smart man. And it is driving the media nuts. Screw the media.

Scary stuff. Wonder whatever happened to the Republicans big issue 'Tort Reform.' Guess PE Lawsuit King isn't too keen on it.

Yes, they quoted and videotaped his own exact words. Held a mirror up to him basically.

Hmm...an Annual Press Conference and adulation rallies that Trump wants to continue holding. Sound like any familiar historical figures?

Yeah--I live in NYC too. He's ridiculed sleaze there. Give it time. He'll show his true colors to the nation. Because that is who he is.
