Wholeheartedly agree, to expand on just one factor:

Production in the 'Real Market' (as opposed to the casino-like 'expectations game') is the result of many factors or interrelated components, each of which should be recognized & rewarded.

Wealth in the real market cannot be produced or accumulate without employees. Labor forces have the right to coordinate their actions with those of others in order to achieve their purposes, for example, by having unions operate in ways which are similar to their German counterparts; they are encouraged to learn & advocate for the market value of their services through negotiation.

Why don't they sell? Huge tariffs.

Expanding on another point made here:

'Preaching' the 'gospel' of weak, small, or no government interventions demonstrates the stunningly familiar ideology that is further 'stamping' us with the mark of robotic thought.

What about those 'big $ donors' et al? Are they not using wealth that wouldn’t exist without government in order to preach against the role of government?

Problem is everyone's timeframe begins with their own birth. There was technology in the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and the workforce grew all the while. There's always something for someone to do. The only question is where it will be done. Now tell me again why iPhones can't be made here?

I think that was a disgrace. Just like it was a disgrace that a GE fat cat was the "job czar". But this is what we get when we vote for and fight for the donor class and not the middle class.

This is what we get when the ideological framework of both major parties is the stunningly familiar quasi-religious ideology espoused by the 'free market fundamentalists' & exposed for its frailties when we ran our 'experiments' in other Countries.

We 'shocked & awed' them over there - it should come as no surprise that it's been tried here for the last few decades.

Consumers

For every worker you're helping through protectionism, there's far many more consumers you're taxing in the form of higher prices.

It's another form of welfare.

Given the choice, Id rather the time machine take us back to America 1953 rather than obama/putins Russia 2017.

...and yet you still voted for Clinton, who took the most money from big banks, outside of the millions she received from them for "speeches". Are you seeing the credibility problem yet?

I'm all for pro-worker trade deals with unions having a strong say in any trade deal but we need trade and investments and just as important as re-negotiating trade deals are massive investments in retraining programs for the regions and workers affected by trade. Just slapping tariffs on imports and reducing trade is not a solution at all.
