She wasn't 18. I don't understand why anyone cares how one asks another out to dinner but I have to think that this guy has a history that goes beyond this story. Not even his "friends" sided with him.
I know she is not 18.., I don't understand what the outrage is... is it
1) she is 16 and not 18
2) the age gap
3) or something else...
I can understand the outrage if it was because she was 16... which would also imply that it would be okay if she was 18... if it's not okay even at 18, then it's the age gap that people have a problem with... if it's because of an age gap, they are adults and have to live with that decision but it's their decision... I have no doubt the guy is a creep but I am more interested with generalizations than this specific situation....
Hmmm. The guy is into "age-gap" love and asks girls out by note. I would say that while there is a chronological age gap, he is very much mentally on the level of a high schooler.

I understand.......I think he is known as a creep. I doubt he gets banned and have the cops show up simply over a request for dinner.
Well I'm guessing this happened one of two ways which we'll never know.
1. He's a creepy leisure suit Larry that cruises places like Starbucks for barely jailbait and doesn't know how to take no for an answer.
2. He just likes'em young, didn't know how young she actually was, and rattled some cages by asking her out.
The note I have no problem with. If I, and I'm fairly certain under absolutely no circumstances would I, but if I were to ask someone out working in a service business in front of her co-workers, a note is the way to do it. It's probably not a great idea to embarrass the girl at work by asking her out where her co-workers can hear.
Personally I could never be attracted to a girl that young. Because their value as a companion is kinda limited to somewhere between 20-30 minutes to an hour, and then you actually have to talk to them. I think I'd rather gouge my ears out with pencils than have those kinds of conversations with anyone under 30.
In summary, it appears no laws were broken, but if it were my daughter she'd warn him of his impending doom, and that would be that. But otherwise, I'll carefully file this story under "Who gives a sh**?"
