Local control is best
It doesn't raise the spending level

The budget has already been decided on, earmarks don't change what is already set in stone. You're talking about 2 different things.

Earmarks do not increase spending

I'm all for cutting the military. I'm all for repealing the war powers act too and forcing presidents to get authorization thru a declaration of war to further reign in world policing and the needed spending to do it.

As far as earmarks, the house votes when congress reconvenes tomorrow

Earmarks are a way for politicians to fund the war machine.

Yet another reason I want it voted down. Obsessing about it will do me no good and it will do Republicans harm. That part doesn't bother me except for the introduction of more arguments based on partisanship vs sound policy.

Earmarks do nothing to fund the war machine. They do not raise spending one cent.

You want it voted down because someone gave you bad information? It doesn't fund the war machine. The budget has already been decided. Earmarks dont add to the debt.

Sending it to Washington to be sent back is not the argument of those who argue the money should be controlled locally.

Earmarks is how politicians save local military bases that should be shut down.
