"Answering phones for a call center" and "lives a much better life" does not belong in the same sentence. Easily one of the worst jobs in existence, and the epitome of "easily replaced".

You're also ignoring that the six-figure jobs tends to come with niceties like a good health insurance plan, retirement plans etc. - how much does your average call center employer contribute to the 401(k)?

Progressives have not the slightest idea of what people in the other states, or even outside their own cities are doing, earning, or living. The rest of the country is nothing but a vague formless shadow to them.

Liberals don't know and don't care what married couples in the Dakotas are earning. It's never occurred to them that there are married couples in the Dakotas.

The elite coastal liberals with those long commutes through declining infrastructure, getting up at 5am and getting home at 7pm. Bumper to bumper traffic. Also, many have tremendous amounts of college debt to pay off and can't even buy a little, old shack.

Pretty sad, that many of hyper-educated, high-powered households in the Bay Area can't even afford what people doing a typing test and answering phones can have in North Dakota.

Then again, North Dakota is Republican and California is Democratic so it is to be expected.

I just saw this job posting a husband and wife can walk into a job in Fargo with minimal skill and take home nearly $28 an hour.

Many of the technical support jobs in Fargo would pay that same husband and wife over $30 an hour in the land of cheap apartments.

2605 12th St S, Fargo, ND 58103 | MLS #16-6144 | Zillow

Then they go back to a 2,700 square mansion by San Francisco and Los Angeles standards and pay their $733 mortgage.

I wonder how much San Francisco and Westside Los Angeles liberals have to make for a 2,800 square feet home?

North Dakota thanks to the ultra-low taxes. The married couple would be left with $46,000 of their money.

With Jerry Brown in California that same married couple would be left with about $43,000.
I guess it all depends on what one considers "living well."

What other benefits are there to living in North Dakota other than that perceived $3000.00?
It sure ain't the weather, particularly this time of year.

The northeast was larger than the entire south in the 50s/60s and the northeasts growth has remained stagnant for 50-60 years while the south is now the largest region in the country with close to 1/3 of the nations population. Corporations and white collar migration has been enormous to places in the sunbelt like the research triangle area in NC, Texas triangle cities, Atlanta ,SLC, Arizona etc

That post you posted about that middle america is all drunks and hopelessness is false, most of the top fortune 500 companies dont reside in big coastal cities . The top 10 fortune 500 companies are dominated by middle america. The top one is Arkansas, the others are in Nebraska, Minnesota, 2 are in Texas and 2 are in Michigan, 7 of the top 10 companies in the fortune 500.

It all goes down the the false narrative the media is trying to spin that all trump supporters are poor and dont have college educations, when that was far more truthful in the obama victories with his "base" than the trump election. The average trump supporter was wealthier and better educated than most americans

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...ump-exit-polls

Trump won college educated white males by a large margin, 15 points. 54 to 39%

Most white collar professionals with children don't live in americas blue cities . Our nations blue cities and places like Manhattan and Hollyood certainly influence the media and its narrative but they are not big influences on election day
Odd, because that's where the jobs are being created. NYC, Boston, San Francisco, Atlanta, Austin, Denver, Orlando (these are liberal blue cities, no matter where they are located). There are more jobs where there are more people and over 50% of the country lives in urban areas.

And, frankly, how do you explain that we constantly heard from those for Trump that they were angry and complaining about the lack of good jobs? They are either well off and just complaining for the hell of it, or there are no jobs where they live. Which is it?

You poll is based on exit polling--notoriously unreliable. I'll stick with statistics. Please stop blaming the media for reporting facts. The 'narrative' is a Trump and alt-right concoction so there is an enemy to blame.

People who are doing well are happy with the economy as it is, and do not need Trump to screw it up.

Probably doesn't even belong in the political forum.

It's -6 degrees this morning in Fargo, you don't have to worry about overcrowding.
I live in Minnesota where it's not much warmer. My favorite days are the cold days because I can drive through St Paul, through the bad parts of town when all the garbage and filth left in the yards by the inhabitants is covered with snow, when the cold chases them inside because they are too dumb to deal with it and imagine a time when those were good neighborhoods with good people living in them.

I love the cold.

Why would anyone else care how one couple chooses to live? Some prefer cities and amenities, some prefer country and open space. And shocker of all shockers, liberals and conservatives alike live in both cities and rural areas.

This is a pathetic "dig" at liberals.

Doesn't bother me. I've been to North Dakota. Anyone willing to live there is welcome to it.

South and North Dakota are two of the most beautiful states in this country.
