Brick and mortar retail has stiff competition with e-commerce and unless it offers something special, there's no reason to shop there.
Same thing when Macy's bought out the Emporium, Weinstocks, Bullocks & Broadway stores in California.

What mall do you shop in? That sounds awful. The biggest issue I have to deal with with our mall is that I feel like it is some sort of high school for shopping with how many teenager are running around in a mall. The mall I go to has plenty of shopping going on....though I am sure plenty of the teens in the mall are just there to hang out, but then again I remember doing that too years ago when I was a teen.

Online shopping was expected to increase 17-19% during the 2016 holiday shopping period.

While all numbers are not yet in, the National Retail Federation forcasted higher spending based on Black Friday weekend - Cyber Monday.

I spent twice as much as I did in 2015 and all of it was online. This included new tires from Costco for my daughter's car. ( Tires were held at Costco awaiting an appointment for replacement).

I have not shopped at Macy's since 2005 when it bought Marshall Fields and rebranded.

That turned into a mad scramble as the two lines attempted to merge. The register ran out of paper for receipts and the cashier did not know how to replace the tape. People were throwing their intended purchases on the floor and walking out.

I walked out too and on my way out noticed a manned register in tools with no line. Guy processed my return.

Sears has been in a long slow death spiral and it has nothing to do with any president or the economy.

Looks like Kohl's isn't doing so well either: Macy's, Kohl's slash 2016 profit forecasts citing weak holiday sales | Reuters

But it's ok I'm sure Trump will call them and turn the whole thing around

...or perhaps just stop manufacturing his ugly stuff in China and Mexico and convince his daughter to stop manufacturing her crap in Africa with slave labor.

Don't forget to pay that bill, card or no card. People do silly things, no one else really cares, you know that right?

People go to Macy's, look at items, try on items and then order them on line. It's a sad day but retail is a constantly changing business.
