I'm amazed that painting has been on display in the United States Capitol for months. It's the perfect illustration of just how mainstream the anti-police, pro-BLM message is in Washington.
Im appalled that any person would hang this in any government building. Let alone CONGRESS. How did it win an award? It is strictly political.
The painting, hanging since June, was done by high school student David Pulphus, who had won Clay’s annual Congressional Art competition.
The acrylic painting depicts a police officer as a pig in uniform aiming a gun at African-American protesters. Above the scene, two birds -- one black, one white -- fight, and beside them, an African-American protester holding a scale of justice is crucified.
The Congressional Black Caucus and rep. Lacy of Missouri will be rehanging it. It is very offensive but, evidently, that door only swings one way.
