I would hazard that the powers that be have known this was going to happen for a lot longer than we the people have. Mobilizations like this don't happen at the snap of a finger. Just the list of combat aircraft and ground vehicles is pretty impressive. It takes a lot of people and gear to support all that as well. Communications, ordnance, medical, food, etc. Fort Carson is home to units in all these areas.
