Ryan said there will be a replacement. So far I like what I've heard.

I'm a tax payer, I know what good for the country. I don't need to be in a healthcare field. On the side note, I have 4 doctors in my immediate family, is that enough? 5 if you count my niece overseas.

The failure of ACA is partly tied to making basic coverage illegal.
That's the first time I ever heard that basic care is illegal. You can buy a catastrophic coverage only plan if you are under 30 or have a financial hardship.

ditto.

We need more options, from the most basic plan to Cadillac ones for those who can afford it on their own, and who choose to spend lavishly on insurance.

HSAs are terrific, for every income bracket paying taxes.

I was in the healthcare field (ICU and ER) for 20 years and still have friends who still work in healthcare. Don't bother natalie, It's a disaster. You won't convince me otherwise I know exactly what's going on.

Being a caregiver for my mother, if I didn't know what was going on (as a healthcare worker), I'll tell you it's downright scary. If you need care, you better know what's going on and if you're not alert and oriented you better have someone knowledgeable to be your patient advocate.

After Hillarycare, healthcare became insurance centric instead of patient centric. Since then it's been bad but after Obamacare it's "much" worse.

I remember before Hillarycare, we used to have time to spend with our patients, giving good care, talking with them (also important). After Hillarycare, patient care changed for he worse but not as bad as today. From what I am told by friends who are still in healthcare, it's not realistic.

Patients aren't just numbers and you can't predict treatment x will take x amount of time. You can't predict a patients reaction to the treatment either but they do and insurance companies determine if you'll get the test or treatment. Nurses, Doctors, people who work in ancillary services aren't robots either. I got burned out because I cared about doing a good job, if I didn't then I could just do a sloppy job because they only give you time to do a sloppy job but I couldn't, I burned out. I am so glad I got out.

All I've heard about the Ryan plan and the Paul plan was HSA's. There better be more to it than that, just getting a tax deduction for money you save towards health care won't cut it. How do they cover children up to 26 and pre-existing conditions, where does the money come from certainly not HSA's.

So what do you like about the Ryan Plan?

let Insurance Companies sell you insurance plans- they will duke it out in competitions- for your dollars.
The old people have medicare -the poor of the poor -Medicaid. Simple, go call an Insurance company - as you do your car or homeowners ins-- and buy it! end of story
