Why would they be living at the Church unless they needed "sanctuary?" Plus, the Churches have already identified themselves as "sanctuaries." Easy pickins'.
Oh gee...I don't know...
Maybe they are homeless men, abused women and children, drug and alcohol addicts - ALL AMERICAN. Its amusing and quite educational to see some floundering around on this thread with these types of posts. Goes to show just who is out of touch with reality and who isn't. Thanks for that.
If it wasn't law breaking, why was Jusus crucified?
because he claimed to be the one Isaiah was speaking about in IS 9:6,7. He claimed to be God walking among men. that was his crime. all the other things listed are ancillary to that one thing.
it has nothing whatsoever to do with illegal immigration.
"Homeless" and "refugees" are a bit different than harboring people in the US illegally and assisting them in evading our laws. Laws which in most of the countries they're from are much stricter.
I don't know what it says when you, and others, seem unable to make the distinction between legal and illegal in this context. Many of you pitch a fit when marijuana laws are enforced.
I don't necessarily agree there is a difference. People are people and if you are a Christian, you believe we are all children of God no matter where we happen to be born.

you are giving me whiplash.
"All American" ?
why are we talking about Americans being deported. that's a legal impossibility. you cannot deport Americans from America.

Yep. And no one here said that his arrest and crucifixion did.
Remember... the minute they step outside the door, they're fair game for ICE arrest and deportation.

For example, you can't just buy a 5 bedroom house and rent it out to someone who then has 100 people living there.
Unless Churches have somehow spontaneously sprouted code-complying hotel or dorm facilities, they're in violation of the law if they house/shelter illegal aliens.
Could you point out to me where you said anything about permanency in the post I replied to? Oh you didn't!
Also, we have approximately a dozen churches in the region that take turns hosting these people for a week at a time. So we're good there too!

And no one is denying the role of churches in aiding those individuals. The issue is aiding people who you can't seem to describe as illegal. As in illegally in the US.

They won't be but the game being played is lumping all immigrants together, legal and illegal, and ignoring the existence of illegals.

I'm talking about Americans because churches serve Americans and non-Americans alike so one can't just sit outside a church and nab someone walking out because they THINK the person is illegal. Hope that cures your sore neck.
