Please don't succumb to this kind of thinking, Jade. Plenty of us who were not blessed with copious amounts of melanin also find him abominable.

You're young, Jade. Exactly when did YOU have to do this?

The point is it happened to people.

Yes of course this was before my time. But it did happen to my parents and relatives. My aunt's schools didn't desegregate till the mud 70s, though they are still segregated today in practice.

I know it happened, your first post wasn't written the way you wrote it above.

Let's just hope Trump won't bring back segregation. It's terrifying, I'm trembling

My statement is not any more petty than the threads all over this forum about liberals, the left and blank people.

If there is one lesson of Trump's election, it is that petty supersedes civility and common sense practices in today's America. Trump is not following the political norms of removing his conflicts of interest before taking office. He threatened his kids with termination if the run his businesses incorrectly in his absence. That doesn't sound like severing ties to me.

Instead of looking for a smooth transition between terms, Trump terminated all employees hired during Obama's time, even those in innocuous positions like ambassadors not even giving them the common decency if settling their affairs before transitioning out of service.

Trump has hired a cabinet full of people who hate the institutions they are supposed to represent. And they deserve to be held accountable for any future turmoil and ignoring of the basic social tenets of our society.

So based on what I have seen over the past couple if months we need to hold Trump to a very high standard, and keep him accountable. He has started off by reneging on his campaign promises.

Jim Crow's probably not coming back, but more subtle racism could certainly creep back in. His endorsement of stop-and-frisk, for example.

While you had separate fountains what did the others have?
