However Trump seems to be hostile to the politics of the last major period of American strength. He is hostile to the entire political and ideological lexicon of the Reagan cold war, post-cold war and immediate post 9/11 pre-economic crisis years. If you want to undo the Obama years, what is wrong with the 1981-2006 period of politics and culture?

Yes, absouletly. The past 16 years have seen this country in decline. Numerous terrorist attacks ,on US soil home and abroad. Near financial collapse, crushing regulation, obscene tax hikes at the federal, state and local level. Obama going on his United States apology tour, Obama telling the Amercian people the things that they have done and achieved wasn't done because of their work, they didn't build that speech, someone else did which still leaves me angry and bewildered. Watching Middle America being told they don't matter and the left in particular basically saying all they have to look forward to is death at a rate faster and younger than the American average. Thus starting the social justice class wars. Americans across the country told that the safety and prosperity of illegal aliens come before the safety, security, and prosperity of actual United States citizens. Being called a racist loudly and proudly if you dare express a differing opinion of the far left regardless if it's true or not.

The system which always tends to work in spite of it self-needs an overall of epic proportion. Trump as the outsider and businessman can affect some real change in Washington. The table is set for him to do so and Republicans better not forget that the ones who supported him won election because of him and those who didn't support him lost. Democrats better understand that they can't keep going the way they are going unless they want to be swept away and forgotten.

So many politicians before Trump always made the mistake of alluding to that if elected we could go back to a certain way of life. Trump's message always was we will undo the disasters of the outgoing administration, drain the swamp of DC and move the country forward. I want to move forward and so far Trump began that process day's after he won. I feel like Trump has done and said more to positively affect this country than any president-elect before him. It's a good start to his promise of making America great again.

What I am saying was that obama was inaugerated in January 2009. Trump says he plans to undo everything obama did, but the system trump describes that we should have is not the system we had in 2008.

Since we hit rock bottom with Obama, we have nowhere to go but up. So it will be very easy for Trump to improve America.

No. He represents demagogy and a tyranny of the (silent) majority. He represents no clear political position and seems largely apolitical, uninterested in discourse and instead just acts like a media figure head, which is mostly all he ever has been in the first place.

There are problems with both the current Left and the Current right. I'll be as simple as possible. First the Iraq war was 100% Justified: only fools believe otherwise. If anything we should have went into Iran and Syria too. Secondly the mistake bush made was not committing enough troops and going to total war footing after 9/11, it was NOT (as the antiwar left and other antiwar folk claims) that we shouldn't have gone to war at all. Finally regarding the war it is a travesty that 9/11 still has gone largely unavenged. Regarding Obama the GOP did nothing but obstruct the president from day one. Obama has made major mistakes though Obamacare should have been a single payer/Public option system rather than what we got and signing up should have been consensual and not compulsory. Finally Trump is a Racist and Bigot who sides with Russians and Iranians over Hispanic Americans and Black Americans. One thing Trump is right though is the need to deport Muslim "refugees".

It is about the definition of making America great again. Ronald Reagan used the same slogan in his 1980 Campaign, but times were way different then. Reagan, in my opinion had completely different ideas than Donald Trump has.

Your thoughts?
My thoughts are that the poll, as written...... is stupid.

Nobody takes campaign rhetoric literally and if you do you're as dumb as this poll.

The important thing is that Trump starts turning the ship around, away from the disastrous direction that Obama and company put us in.

If he is even moderately successful in doing that, I'll consider his presidency a success.

I don't understand what you just posted.

But as I said before, you have to have faith in your new president. You either HAVE it or you don't. You can't manufacture it or buy it....Nobody can make you feel it....You just know inside that he is going to do his very best.
