A former Black Panther slammed Congressman John Lewis as a clueless stooge for the Democratic Party who needs to wake the hell up.
Author Mason Weaver, a former member of the militant Black Panther movement, made the remarks in response to Lewis’ comment that Donald Trump is “not a legitimate president.”
Weaver said Lewis is the fraud and called him an “illegitimate congressman” who presided over the “destruction of black America” in the years following the civil rights movement.
Trumpies: We love the Black Panthers! Can't make this stuff up.

Will note on the post to the OP - FYI - all black people don't like John Lewis. He was my representative in Georgia and even though I have no ill will towards him and am VERY appreciative of his work during the climax of the CRM, I think he needs to retire.

like I said in another thread...anytime a black person is crapping on other blacks, all of a sudden they get airtime. Even a "militant" black panther is all of a sudden worth a listen now for some reason.

FWIW, I think its hilarious he was a contract specialist and worked on negotiating contracts for the government - something that many of the more alt-right/white supremacist posters around here think is racism against whites - us blacks working for the government.
I have done similar jobs in the past and don't think he's all that special based on it. I know lots of contract specialist and most conservatives want to denigrate all government workers today it seems. Ironically, I also started my own company doing the same thing he did - teaching companies how to do business with the government.
Mason's distinctive point of view is a direct result of a past tragedy that has produced a present day triumph After approximately 2800 pounds of steel and iron plates fell on him, while on active naval duty in San Diego, California, the Navy classified him disabled and discharged him.
Mason found himself unskilled and disabled. He had to discover a new way of earning a living. After graduation from UC Berkeley with a degree in Political Science, he won a position with the US Department of Energy against 2,400 applicants for four job openings. Between 1976 and 1980 he was promoted from an entry level employee to a Mid Level Senior Contract Specialist with a "Confidential Security Clearance". He negotiated many multi-million dollar government contracts with major contractors, including TRW, General Dynamics, and General Electric.
In 1980 Mason resigned to become an entrepreneur, forming a private consulting company to assist businesses in obtaining and administering government contracts.
It is funny to me, this guy because he doesn't mention being a black panther, I may ask him on Facebook who can vet that he was a black panther. According to this website and his facebook page he was in the military and got out in 1971 then went to college. I have read numerous works and essays by Black Panthers and never have heard of this guy.
All he is IMO is another black guy pimping himself out to conservatives, same as he claims that John Lewis is doing. At least John Lewis actually was an activist and has the scars to prove it though...

Very odd IMO. Seems like he is just one of these hunky dory consultant guys who charge $500 an hour or more to give a speech. I bet the news program who interviewed him paid him over $1000 for the interview and to say he was a former black panther.
And again, I do think John Lewis needs to retire, mostly because I don't think he is relevant to the issues facing black Americans today as the atmosphere is very different than it used to be and I do think he is a Civil Rights relic. But I do greatly respect him and admire him and his life story.
But this guy is just a liar and someone pimping out white conservatives by being what I call a "different sort of negro" one who certain people like to point toward and put on an pedestal and who they wish all of black people were like.
I wonder who's the "mediocre negro" and who's the "jigaboo" in this one.
