Islam is a bad legal argument. One does not restrict Islam as a religion. You can have any religion you like except when it allows you to rape uncovered women or murder people for leaving the faith.
Actually, you would still be free to hold a religion that "allows you to rape uncovered women or murder people for leaving the faith." the problem arises when you act on those beliefs which immediately becomes very illegal.

Well there ya are. Islam such that it imposes behaviors on others is not compatible with our society. The only bases for our law is when two people's freedom are in conflict. That is no how Islamic law works. You cannot even Amend the Quran. We can Amend the Constitution.

it's called the "Reconquista" or something to that effect and is very real. But we don't recognize it because they aren't using their Army to do it and it's happening very slowly.
Last time I checked, the US/Mexico border was clearly defined, unless there's some Kashmir-like area in the Southwest that I'm not aware of.
Pak wanted to have full of Kashmir, but stopped/halted after taking 1/3rd of the territory. And the matter was settled there. But like the Arab states refusing to recoqnize Israel even to date despite losing the 6 day war, Pakistan still claims Kashmir is for Kashmiris ( despite losing 3 more wars).

The law you suggested "preventing say Christians from going to Church on Sunday" would not be constitutional either.
When you have to *try* to straw man another person into saying literally the exact opposite of what they have been saying the whole time, you might want to reexamine your argument.

You appear to have difficulty distinguishing between thoughts and actions:
A person believes that we should have sharia law because of their religion - protected
A person believes that we should have sharia law because of their religion and decides to apply that belief through legislation(unconstitutional laws) or violence(criminal) - not protected
